I have don the opposite to what you have don as I found that Norton Internet Security 2007 slowwwwed my PC down to a crawl ......... as I was waiting for a window to open some snails over took me, and I do not think that I shall be reinstalling that program again.

I currently have on my system Norton System Works ( Premier 2006) along with Internet security 2006 and Norton Anti-Spam 2004.

Plus the following StopZilla, AVG Anti-Spyware and Webroot Spy Sweeper.

I like to think that I have all the base covered. ........................ Hopefully!!!!!!!!!!

as i was not able to contact the customer service from the Symantec uk site, i contacted the Symantec.com. (things got wrong from the beginning)
i contacted Symantec to see if i can just pay the difference to upgrade to Norton Internet Security 2007. they replied that i need to purchase NIS 2007 first and then notify them. they will refund me the NIS 2006 cost as i only renewed it 20 days ago(refund can be done within 60days). but the link they provided is not working for people in uk. i replied back and said the link is not working for me and if i should just go to uk site to buy the 2007version. i clearly said i will contact them after i upgrade it as i was planning to do it at this weekend. the next day they emailed me and said they had placed a refund request for me and us$42.35 will be refunded to my account in 15 working days. i replied i paid for 42.35 sterling pounds,not 42.35 us dollars. if thing's like this i will think about it and asked them to cancel the refund request(i didn't ask,not yet at least!!) the following day they replied they have done the refund and didn't say anything about the refund amount!!

my Norton internet 2006 is still working now????i wonder when they are going to cut it. as i use my pc everyday i really need the internet security. i am thinking if i just should purchase a new version now before they cut me off. i have been happy with Norton internet security,so i intend to continue. but 2006 or 2007????????????? :confused:

i was hesitating to go ahead with 2006 or 2007 version after i heard what happened to Trainshed Terry. Norton suggested me to purchase 2006 or 2007 since they have refunded me. the refund has not gone into my bank account,should be within the following 15days.they just don't answer me in which currency and amount they will refund me. i have to find out that later. not very good customer service at the end! my norton internet security 2006 is still working so far. i guess it will stop working once the refund reach my bank account???? so last night i went to the website which you suggested in this thread and i bought the Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0. according to the survey it got the best anti virus software. it doesn't slow down my pc. so hopefully i got better service. i just received the order confirmation today and i am going to download it later. hope everything will be fine.

Hello, fungli! I hope your new AV software works well for you. Kaspersky has a good reputation for effectiveness, but I have no experience with it and can't comment on issues like ease of use, etc.

Re: Trainshed's problems, the performance is typical for a NAV 2007 installation that has gone wrong. Symantec provides several tools to resolve NAV installation issues. In spite of all the complaints about NAV installations gone bad that you may see on forums, I really hadn't dealt with too many untill NAV 2006/7, and I had used Norton Antivirus exclusively from version 1.0 through the middle of last year.

To recap an earlier post, the best defense for malware is user awareness.

hi,i just downloaded the kaspersky internet security 6.0 and everything went on well untill a Proactive Defense Warning appeared. it says suspicious action running module\Driver\Ps2. keylogger detected. action : driver name is system32\DRIVERS\PS2.sgs. i don't know what this keylogger is. i can't click the terninate button as it is grey colour. only allow button and never block button are available. so i assumed it is ok. i just clicked never block. did i do the right thing??? please advise. thank you!

then everything seems fine. i scanned my pc and run the update as well.

A keylogger is NEVER ok...

A key logger records every press of the buttons on the keyboard and can then send that information to someone else.

Suggest you contact Kapersky support - google has nothing on that file name, so it might be a misidentification of something else.

hi,i found out what a keyloggere was today and i was paniced. the message says proactive defense warning. suspicious running module\driver\ps2. keylogger is detected. possible driver name is system32\drivers\ps2.sys. so i searched the file. as it is a system file i can't edit or ... i use windows defender and it should block it. i scanned my pc twice with kapersky and windows defender and nothing came up. everything seems fine. so i don't know what happened. my friend says the ps2 file is related to my pc mouse. so it may just a faulse message.

anyway i will take your advise to contact the kaspersky. let you know later what is the problem.

Open www.google.com type in the search box kapersky - click go, it's the first in the list. Beneath the kaperky labs links are reviews by various websites.

Fungli, your friend is wrong. The Ps2.sys file isn't a mouse driver. Perhaps he's confusing it with Ps2.exe, which is a driver for HP multimedia keyboards. Contacting Kaspersky support is good advice, and I would run another scan or two as well. You might want to download Ad Aware SE, Spybot Search & Destroy and update them. Next shut the computer down for 30 seconds or so boot into Safe mode by pressing the F8 key once a second during startup. After the computer has finished restarting, click the Start buttton, right click on My Computer, left click on Properties, and the click the System Restore tab, and, finally, disable system restore and re-scan the computer.

I think the file in question was most likely infected, but Kaspersky probably cleaned it for you. Still, never hurts to double check.

Hi, The file you listed is a genuine keyboard driver so is safe to allow. As
scans have also shown the system to be clean you are ok to have allowed them
all.

When service pack 2 for our products are released they will have a list built in
of known keyboard drivers which can be flagged as keyloggers. This way users
won't get the alerts.

i scanned my computer last night again and everything is fine. i received the email from Kaspersky today and i can relax now!!! I think....
