If it isn't in the main listing when you look at it, it must be in a sub folder.
Do a search on D: for i386.
Let's say you find it in a folder called 'drivers'.
Then add a directory line to accomodate the path you find, eg, instead of cd i386 you may have cd drivers\i386.

You can try this also, may be easier:
Start, run, type cmd and press enter
Type cd c:\windows\i386 and press enter
Type expand sndvol32.ex_ c:\windows\system32\sndvol32.exe and press enter
BTW: if you click start, all programs, accesories you will see Windows Explorer in that list - it is your most important Windows tool for working with files.
