Which one is better Windows 98SE are Windows ME

I have another question i'm doing some shopping to upgrade the compaq armada 110 I want to add a 80gb HD and one 512md memory but my question is will I be able to use a 8X Dual internal DVD Burner.
I bought a another compaq armada 110 ($26.00)for parts this one is a P3 so I might switch motherboards for a fast Processor. Sorry kind of went off topic. This is want I need to know.

1. will I be able to use a 8X Dual internal DVD Burner
2. Is it possible to use 2 internal HD

This is my first Labtop I want to hook it up..

And my second labtop (compaq armada 1750) I gave that to my girl for school work.

I'm sure this is seriously late, but the 80 GB drive would (would have?) work, spawn. OMG is a bit like genital herpes. We can go months without an outbreak, but then... suddenly... it strikes.

As I recall, one of the moderators threatened to ban OMG some months ago, but ultimately decided that hearty laughter has enormous therapeutic benefits.

Well it's to late I bought it I was told that it will work if you have
windows 2ooo are XP installed. I'll just wait and see what happens, if not I can always sell it on ebay

The only thing that will prevent the hard drive from working is the bios. If there is a bios update which goes over the 32mb limit, then it will be fine. Compaq are not known for the abundence of updates or useful descriptions of what is updated in the bios.

ME is vunerable, but then you can always get the security updates and install them yourself. Windows update doesn't work, but the updates are still available for download.

Exactly what is vunerable in ME that you heard about?

Glad you got it sorted Spawn.

Now I have 1 little problem a little magnet under the left speaker fell out I tried to put it back but I can only get it in half way any ideas.

if you look here you can see how the magnet works. Given that we cannot see your speaker design, it might provide a view so that you can reposition it properly. Frankly, I would remove an replace the speaker since the magnet should not be loose!
