Of the countrys you listed did their empire/society not collapse/implode? as to terrorists attacking Canada why would they other than to gain a staging point over the US? If they just threatend our government would just give in to them. we dont have the force to back up anything other than a peace keeping mission with UN support (all of our standing troops are currently in deployment in afganistan and other UN actions).
