I was thinking of the 4870
Brands don't matter, but GPU types do to a certain extent.... it can cope with some inequalities, but not all... did you read the faq through?
Yes I did thanks for info if I run into any problems or have any further questions I will let you know
The benchmark on that should be fairly high :)
Yeah I'm really looking forward to my new system :)
I have changed my mind instead of the 9950 I want to get the phenom II 920 hioefully on tuesday :)
Will this PSU run fine with the Phenom II this is one I am currently using:
http://jeantech.com/storm.htm
Antec says running just the phenom II will require 130w psu... have a look here it's the rest of the stuff that causes the problems :)
SOmeone told me to run the Phenom II I need a psu that runs 30 Amps on a rail so will the one I got do the job?
How do the Phenom 2 processors compre to the quad core intel ones and the i7
I got 4 sticks of 1066 Kingston HyperX Mrmomty 4x2gb
on the Gigsbyte website it says that due to AM2 CPU limitations you can only use 1 1066 dimm in a memory channel on the GA-MA790GP-DS4H motherboard
So does this mean I was only be able to use2 sticks thus totaling 4gig?
Yes... however reading around some people using the F2a bios have got 8gigs to work... otherwise it drops to 800
so even if I cant get 8 gig to work at 1066 will it automatically drop to 800 once i put all 4 sticks in
So it would appear... best to email Gigabyte on that and see if they can clarify further.
I have finally put it all togther with the Phenom II 940 and got 6 gig 1066 Kingstom Hperx RAM working :)
Bought an Akasa Ak-922 HSF to keep it all nice and cool.
The Gigabyte MA-780GP-DS4H motherboard is great too I' loving it.
I had the Same problem that Ferrit had with his TV tuner but got it all sorted now :)
So you are all sorted until the next time :D That would be about 6 months...
I am having ouble using 2 monitors which always work fine it's all a bit wierd.
Last night my system was fine both monitors were working and I switched it off and in the morning the problems started.
When I turn on the pc it boots up as normal with everything on my main screen when it get to the user welcome screen everything switched to my secondar monitor.
Through display option I can enable both monitors but on my 22inch I can only get a resolution of 1024x768 and it's massive.
I have tried re-connecting the montiros reinstalling my display drivers and the monitor drivers but the funny thing is my 22inch screen gets detect as non pnp.
If I use one monitor it works fine but I cannot use too.
What is going on here guys it's driving me crazy my montirs are both viewsonic 19 and 22 inch
Any ideas???/
Tried swapping over the cables... so that they are attached to the other dvi port?
I have tried that no luck
dual-link DVI outputs support two 2560x1600 resolution displays
So which viewsonics are they?
Have you overclocked the video card... if so, try with out the oc
They are the vx2235wm and the vx924
And is the card overclocked?
Found this at PNY FAQ
Check the settings.Quote:
Right-click on the Desktop Select Properties Select Settings Select Advance Select your card Select Additional properties Select Desktop Utilities Check "Treat multiple outputs on nView cable board as seperate display devices" Click O.K. Re-boot
The vx924 will only go to 1280x1024 resolution
The other Max Resolution: 1680 x 1050
To you have tv out active as well?
I am thinking that the 924 is not widescreen, so the card is trying to provide a resolution that will look ok on both monitors from the point of view of height/width ratio
so drop the overclock for the moment...
You cannot as it manufactured overclocking I never did it myself
You got any ideas of shall I just reinstall vista as the system is runnig a bit slow anyway do you think this will sort it?
I have looked everywhere cannot find a solution anywhere
Nothing other than plodwise go through, remove 19" monitor, get 22" going on it's own with right resolution and drivers, disconnect, do the same for the 19", shut down and put the 22" back on as well and check that they keep their driver and resolution settings. Then try cloning the desktop
i will try that if it does not work what should i do next? It all seems a bit wierd to me
If you had to monitors capable of the same resolution, I would test that next, but you don't... but can you borrow one?
i font think i can borrow one but i dont know how it went wrong was working fine before
What driver did you use to install the card... can you install the same one again?
i used the latest driver from the nvidia site been using it since it was released been working fine until now its version is 181 something i cant remember and i have uninstalled and reinstalled the card a few time using these drivers and the default divers vista uses as well but have had no luck. Vista just wont let me use a higher resolution
Have you checked the box to show resolutions that the driver doesn't think it's capable of reaching?
i think i did where can i find this option?
I reinstalled windows and took the video card out and connext its power direct from the power supply it just wont let my 22 inch go over 1024x768.
has this card gone dead or something?
