So true! 4 new tires for my Sonata, cost me a whole lot more than I wanted to pay.
I predict that the next poster is using a Bluetooth mouse.
False, I use a "regular" wireless Intellimouse.
I predict the next poster is having car trouble.
Nope, I say, afraid of having tempted the fates.
I predict the next poster will not be the reknown Platypus, originator of this noble thread.
I am not the Noble guy who started this thread.
I predict the next poster just purchased something from E-bay
Nope, tried and was outbid on an item. Funny enough, the winning bid was $3 more than it costs in a local store, and this one was used and had no real warranty. Go figure!
I predict that the next poster has spun a dreidel or two in the past.
Had to google it so obviously no.
I predict the next posted has a fake Christmas tree.
Actually, this year we have no Christmas tree (fake or otherwise), perhaps a Zen Christmas tree, the tree that isn't there.
I predict the next poster is having a traditional family get together for the holidays (Christmas or otherwise). :)
PS I have spun a few dreidels in my time, but in Venezuela we called them perinolas.
I would guess true, though it's more my girlfriends family traditions I will be dealing with.
I predict the next poster just wants to stay inside and enjoy the warmth of a fire.
Have to say that's false. The only way I could enjoy a fire in my house would be by setting it on fire (no fireplace) and I don't think my insurance coverage is up to that.
However, in a similar vein, I bet the next poster has pulled his boss's chestnuts out of the fire so many times, he just might let them roast next time around.
Not likely, as he kept me employed by fighting for me.
I predict that the next poster is a big fan of superhero movies and will go see "The Green Hornet" in 3d. Like I did.
Right on the first part, undecided about the second part. Close enough.
I predict that the next poster will already have reneged on his / her 2011 resolutions - in total or in part.
False.
Resolutions are meant to be broken - so I don't make any.
I predict the next poster has gained too much weight during the holidays.
I agree. Totally. 100%.
I predict that the next poster is eyeing a Blu-ray burner for the desktop.
Ok, I admit it, I broke down and bought one. I was hoping that one of you regulars would buy one for me, buuuut noooooooooooo....
I predict that the next poster needs a new U.P.S.
Thinkng on that I was stationed in Germany went to a base, One roll looked like wax paper, another looked like brown paper towel, and ours
Next Poster will be shaken and not stirred:wave:
Actually, I am more "agitated" than "shaken".
I predict the next poster is planning their garden planting strategy for this year.
If by garden you mean yard and by planting you mean killing all grass then yes...
I predict the next poster hates mowing.
Not true! It is trimming that I despise.
I predict that the next poster has a penchant for poetry.
False, I never could write it and I rarely apreciate it.
I predict the next poster will post a reply to this post. (Sorry, I'm lazy today)
No, I do not have a penchant for poetry, but I do have a medallion of beef.
{Just being a Smarty Pants, Niclo.} So, I am also not responding to the previous post, yet, by mentioning it, I also have responded to it indirectly. But, the existence of the Babel Fish can only be attributed to...
I predict that the next poster is more of a limited edition print and an avid collector of good books. :D
These days, it's hard to afford a decent original or even afford to be an original. Just look at poor, misunderstood Charlie Sheen.
So, yeah, I'm a prints kinda guy, and I guess I actually have collected a pretty good military history library (tending toward specialization in Byzantine armies from the 6th to the 12th centuries). Correct prediction!
I predict that the next poster believes Canonical's decision to name Ubuntu 11.0 Oneiric Ocelot is a perfect example of why Linux will continue to be largely ignored by most computer users.
False, Though I'm sure that the naming has a little to do with the lack of interest in linux I would bet that lack of good, bug free, universal software, the fact that there are still crippling bugs with hardware, support only from a community that only knows how to speak advanced tech speak, and the cumbersome way to install 30%+ of the programs and drivers is what really scares off your general run of the mill users.
I predict the next poster wants to give me a 45k a year job :) OK because we know that's not going to happen I really predict the next poster believes books should not be phased out in favor of digital media.
Absolutely spot on! An e-book will never be able to replace an actual, paper book, be it hardback or paperback. You just cannot replace the "feel" of an actual book, the smell, the whole sensory feast that comes with a good book. Err,... Yes, I like books! :o
As an aside, Charlie Sheen is looking to hire a #winning intern! :thumbs2:
The next poster is a reformed Vegan!
Correct, especially for any book that can be labeled as "documentation".
Nothing beats a highlighted line and a sticker on the page :)
I predict the next poster is considering a Netflix streaming subscription.
Flase, I have over 2,000 dvd's and Blu-Rays, and have viewed about half.
I predict that the next poster is a Facebook fan and updates daily.
Gutz, you couldn't be more wrong. I don't even bother with Facebook most days. And updates? Even less frequent.
I predict the next poster is not really a tech, but wants to be very badly and as such advertises to his friends and family members he can "fix" their computer problems. He's probably a security guard.
:)
False, however if you said that a person like that was related to one of us you'd be hitting a bullseye about my cousin. He's been asking his friends who work in IT to put a good word in for him and putting his resume forward to apply for 30K+ a year IT positions.
I predict the next poster is wise to "contracting firms" that don't offer real jobs but rather small individual project contracts. (I hope I made sense with that)
Not true! I own a few Ipods, and an Itouch, but never owned a Mac or a Ipad, and have no plans to get either.
I predict that the next user is contemplating getting more ram installed.
False, I have 4GB and nobody should ever need more than that... ummm.. nevermind scratch that...
I predict the next poster is having a bad day.
Is a prediction still correct if it is an understatement of massive proportions? FINE!!! I guess you get credit for that one CeeBee. I predict that the next poster believes that any vendor who ships you not one, but two defective replacements for a defective part should be legally obligated to send a company representative to commit seppuku on the street in front of your effected customer's office.
True, it should be a law.
I predict the next poster likes having breakfast for dinner once in a while.
True, sometimes delicious leftovers are the best. After all it's still food, I don't really make a difference between meals.
I predict the next poster is not worried about radiation.
Radiation? Ha! I laugh at radiation! I've lived nearly half my life just a few miles downwind from the Pantex Nuclear Weapons Plant. When I was a kid and got an X-Ray, those suckers were so sharp and clear they looked like engravings. Sure, I may glow in the dark just a little, but that simply means I never need a nightlight.
I predict the next poster would rather eat roadkill than eat a McRib.
Trick question they're both the same thing!
I predict the next poster read slgriebs post about radiation and instantly imagined him as one of these.
Since Slgrieb didn't make a prediction, I'll butt in as usual and make one for him:
I predict that the next the next poster is hoping for Godzilla to emerge from Monster Island and save Japan from the radiation.
False,
I predict the next poster is thinking "holy cow! I haven't seen this thread in a while!"
