I've always admitted to being hypocritical in many instances. That's why so many liberals like you and Clam can't stand me. But I have never hid behind the "always fair to everyone" concept you shelter. So bottom line, if it’s ok for Stern, it’s ok in the NFL too. Round of ‘juice’ for everyone!

So let me get this straight,.. because I think it's ok for Howard Stern to speak freely and because I do not think it is ok for NFL players to clothesline each other means I am closed minded? Because you are offended by words and think violence of one human against another makes you open minded? Do I have this right?

I am not offended by anything Stern has to say. I am offended that someone would say that what he does isn't offensive to some people, so I defend the right to censor him. :thumbs:

As far as football, I could give a crap about the game. Until it becomes more interesting, I wont watch more than one or two games per season. So when someone gets hurt playing the game, and everyone starts crying, “that’s foul” or “cheap shot”, I get offended. As we’ve already discussed, there’s nothing “cheap” about going to a football game…so why the fuss when someone makes it interesting? Kudos to him!

I like to force food on my kids with the instruction that they must try it, if they don't like it, I won't make them eat any more. Are you really going to ask me to listen to him again, after I tried him and didn't like him several times already...

So if I understand what you are saying, you listened a few times, didn't like it, then stopped listening and now you don't listen at all right?

Now back to this:
- You defend the right to have him censored even though you don't listen and really have no clue what he is saying in the first place
- You don't watch football but at the same time you support the uneccessary violence in the game.

Yes, I defend the right to have him censored. We have good people in the FCC (some are brainless I am sure to). Those people have a job to do in policing the airwaves, and if Stern breaks some of their rules, and gets fined, who am I to argue? I don't watch or listen to his show, so I have to presume that they are right. I watched his movie, which he pretty much gave the brass seal of approval by being in it, not like farce of the Doors movie. He showed that he was an against the grain dude from the get go. He’s pushed more envelopes then NASA test pilots, and he’s been warned thousands of times to watch the boundaries of decency. He’s been found in violation of those boundaries more times they you can count, and you’re really going to rely on the argument that because I don’t listen to him anymore that I don’t know what a turd he is???
