Yeah sure I'm 'up for it' .. but as I said earlier, any new mods want to take a back seat to the ones we have now, they are good, its just odd times we've had trouble finding one when required & that's what I want accomplished out of this :).

You mean by Richard1 ? Lots of folks have been busy having a poke at Trip when all he tried to do was what he thought was the right thing ..

Now 'history' or not, that convinces me his hearts in the right place, even if sometimes apparently his 'gob' hasn't been - but I'm pretty sure the lack of any public statement by Richard1 on the matter speaks volumes in itself - I'm thinking its something you will have to 'put up with' ;)

Um actually, since we had more members of the admin team show up other then just Richard1, I meant all of them.

Noo is pretty busy until Monday but I will ask her the next time I talk to her when she would like me to close this thread.

On a side note, I know a lot of you are unhappy with Trip's appointment but I think you need to at least give him a chance. If it is as you say then he won't last long but after talking with him at great length through e-mail and PM's I believe he genuinely has the forums best interest at heart. Being a mod means not always being able to express how you truly feel and that isn't easy for a lot of us. It also means you must have a thick skin; a skill I'm still working on. Please be patient and give him some time to cut his teeth. The new mods definitely will have some pretty big shoes to fill. Thanks for everyone's input on this thread.

Exactly right Don, and Noo asked for who you want to see as a mod, not who you don't want to see and or why. So, perhaps we can keep this one on a positive note.

Not to be a sourpuss, but if all of our collective complaints and recommendations on Trip are being glossed over, why should we think any of you would consider any of our recommendations for anyone else?

Honestly it is all rather simple. There are members here that post that do not come into the lounge. The lounge is also where the vast majority of problems start and stay or stem from. Why would you ask us who to send into authority, we have all fought eachother(when I say fight, I mean debate, argue, just plain have fun with, or actually fight) and seen what happens with them.

If you want people for just specific areas, take the time away from the lounge and watch for those that spend time outside of here that you can confont privately to see if they would be interested.

All in all, this is a more cold and calculated attempt to stir crap here in the lounge then anything me, confused or ya_know have done combined.

Adept and Major have been the top choices for everyone here. Problem is that they have left for the most part, they were shown a new place by your new "I want to help Windrivers" mod Trip(Mr hugely responsible for the loss of so many here that would do better then many of us as a mod).


I think this is the last I am going to have to say about this until I get to go running a screaming all about my lounge saying "TOLD YA SO". Until then I just wait for monday to get my MRI and EMG

My 2 cents:

TripleRLtd: Means well, seems to know how to install anti-spyware software very well and look up "hi-jack this codes", loves to be and will do anything to be the center of attention, agree's with everyone on just about everything and basically just tries to hard to be liked by all. Mod? Not a chance. Imo, promoting him to mod ahead of some of the other members who deserve a chance first is a joke and a slap in the face to them and the rest of this community.

Ya_Know: Smart guy, tells it like it is. I've had my ups and downs with Ya_Know. However, he has earned my respect based on his ability to talk up front with people and his level of experience/knowledge in terms of IT related subjects. Mod? Perhaps. But not just yet. Maybe in another year or two.


Here's the biggest problem I have with this whole thing: I think there are several people here who have been around this place longer who have demonstrated far superior leadership/technical skills who should get a shot at it first if they are willing. Remember,.. actions speak louder than words.

nah seriously when it comes down to it Kato's right. I did make it rather obvious where I stood on issues such as Trip and the new Forum changes but then again at the time I had no such thing as modship to worry about.

Ya_Know is right being a mod and being a member is two different things and the way you approach things is different. I find that when dealing with my own forums and in chat.


Major Kong would make a great mod..

Plus he is my Major Sir.... a real friend that cares about the other members. He was one member that by his and his wifes care and concern helped me get through my big brave leaving my hubby time by sending me emails just to let me know people still cared while I was in the shelters at one of the lowest points of my life.

Thats the kind of person that should be a mod

Actually kato hit the nail on the head in my case. Due to my ummmm...very interesting schedule I get kinda scarce for 2 week periods. I just got home last night and I've had my elbows up to moose poop since I got home.

To make matters worse solar activity up in the Arctic has played hades with my dial up connection up at work and consequently I only had 'net access after work for 3 days of my 14 day hitch. :sad:

I am very honored that I would be considered for such a position, but unless you would need need someone at intervening times I will have to respectfully decline.

To be honest, I don't think anyone one of the regulars around here should be a mod... there's too much history between everyone. Regardless of what happens I'll still post here and chances are I'll still post in the same manner I have been since I started here... Cleetus could be elected supreme leader and I'd still post here... Out of all of the garbage that's been said an done around here, once the smoke clears there's really only one person I'd nominate... Adept... He's one of the only people around here who's actively tried to bring some interesting things here MindTrap being one of them. While some of the techniques he uses I don't agree with (WOTPP) he's always seemed like a straight forward guy who sticks to his guns. He's cracked once or twice... but we all have... having to deal with some of the filth I've seen around this place would make anyone go berserk sometimes... Personally I come here for some knowledgable people to help me with tech problems, the guy coulda called me a f'in moron in a politicos thread and I'd still listen to his tech advice... but there are times I come here to read all the new threads in the lounge and stuff just to specifically get into an arguement... I'm one for conflict... conflict brings the best and the worst out of everyone... And Adept seems to be the only one around here who can balance between the two of them effectively... Say what you will but he's my first and probably only choice...

This is obviously not intended to insult anyone, but if it did insult you, too bad. Besides, nobody nominated me and I'm mad... LOL
