Ok
First: Create a new folder by Right clicking on your Desktop screen, left click new, then folder, then name the folder AC97.
Then go to this site Noo Noo gave you and download the audio driver to that folder.
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...ition&lang=eng
Have a look inside and make sure there is an 'inf' file in there.
Then , go back into Device Manager, Sound Video and Audio Controllers and Right click on the 'Realtek AC97 Audio' entry, then left click on properties, left
click on driver, left click on uninstall and click 'OK'.
Called away - anyway, at this point reboot and see what happens.
If asked for a driver, direct the search to the desktop folder. (in most cases, that means every time Windows asks you to let it go ahead and do something, you say no and take the harder road)
