Yeah, it was cool.

Well, I've been talking to this one chick, but she's not working out (kinda snooty and stuck up and I don't dig that). Then there's this chick I used to hang out with a long time ago who needed help with her computer. So she came over this weekend and i worked on her,.. er, I mean her computer. :D
Then went to the Niner game yesterday which was fun and all week I have a myriad of non-computer related things I need to get done. Damn,.. by the time I get back on CoH, you guys are all gonna be like 10 lvls up on me. :sad:

Inept is the only one at higher levels. The rest of us (me, meatwad and adept) are all 28-29 and diver is 27 I think. Carb is still on his endless quest for XP though...

Well,.. I must say, it would be nice to be the one getting the big xp for once rather than playing for hours and hours and hours only to get like 5xp in the name of "helping out the team". So maybe I will just kinda hang back a bit. :D

Question - how do we get our low level toons up to a decent level really fast?

Should we take some of our alternates the nights we don't have to play, log them on and have the others tug them about getting them XP? Seems like a nice way to get some different blood to high level fast. Well, given that somone knows how to powerlevel one of these toons.

Yes.

I have checked my mic settings.
I have every volume controll turned up way high.
The mic settings in the application are at their highest.
I have a built in c-media sound from my mobo and the latest drivers from asus.
The volume on the base station (where the headphones and mic are plugged into) is at max.

I have to put the mic right against my mouth for it to pick up sound. If it is more than 1mm away it does not pick my voice up.

the only way i know how is to get the tank to herd mobs (family or 5th) in IP and let the blasters do AoE on em, works like a charm ;) we can always recruit a couple more if 4 isn't enufhttps://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif

Yes it is an endless quest, however, I'm right there with all you guys. I'm at 30. But don't worry, I have a couple of alts I'm willing to work with to level up. Not to mention all the stupid badges I love to collect. How inane is that? No prob.

That is a noble task and a set up to get accolades.

I actually saw a level 50 elec/elec blaster with all the accolades and just a few badges missing (Isolator, among others).

That's a lot of investing...

I don't recall having a problem like that.

Try to disable the Microphone value under the sound output (but of course leave it on for the input) if it's there, to see if that helps at all. That would be in your Speaker (Volume) Setttings (Options - Properties) if the speaker icon is in your system tray.

Is their a gain boost option you can check? My option screen has a 20db boost you can click on for the mic.

I can keep stale bubbled while he aggros and keep the rest of us invisible so we don't pull the aggro. All the blasters stay around me inviso and in bubbles while stale just taunts and taunts to keep the aggro. while you rain fire and other aoe's down on them.

Here's a few tricks to try:

Powerlevelling warning: If you don't agree to this method of using the game machanics, then don't read any further. :p
1. Team up with a toon at least 4 levels higher than yourself and don't SK. It appears that the level difference can actually be increased if the characters are higher. If you can participate in the action, great, if not stay at the city entrance or better yet, in a store of that city to sell enhancements as they come in. This is what I did to get Stalemate from 26 to 27 (for respec) with Blackiron, a scrapper in the early 30's in Brickstown. It took about an hour, and XP gains were ranging from 150 to 450 per mob defeated.
2. 3-Way: A much lower level toon is sidekicked to a mentor that is within the accepted level range difference with the one doing the powerlevelling. The SK's mentor is not included in this team to keep the XP as high as it can be and requires both SK and mentor to remain close to each other during the process.
Point number 2 appears iffy and would need to be tested.

Who's up for some "testing" this evening then?

I'll kick inept out this evening as soon as he's done with the dinner dishes and then we can get cracking. :p

Although not a powerlevelling technique per se, this would work well (with a slithly lessened XP payoff) and be fun for everyone involved. :cool:

Another method of powerlevelling based on the aforementioned "tank" idea:

Take a higher level tank/controller/debuffer and hold aggro while the lowbie(s) arrests the mobs.
Don't team up, SK, exemplar, or anything so the XP is not shared.

If we're going to be doing any kind of powerlevelling, we need to keep the groups small.

For example, Diverrr teaming with a level 30 and he SKing a lowbie of some sort would get good XP for him and the lowbie, but not if more members are added to the team.
