Never a bad Intel in my 20+ years in the industry...
However, I've seen 3 bad AMD's in a single day, several bad IBM's and a few Cyrix's - those are few and far between as no one uses Cyrix processors ;-)

My boss bought a batch of 15 'cheap' 600 MHz slot A Athlons. All but one either were DOA or were returned by the customer within a month. God knows what happened to the other one.
I get 1 or 2 skt 370, 433MHz ish celerons every month. About as many Slot A Athlons and the occational PII/III 500 ish.
Its a cold day in hell when I get a bad P1 especially P54 (ceramic)
I currently maintain 3000 plus Pc's and 400+ Laptops in my network.I have only had one bad cpu Intel 233 mmx.
I've only seen one Intel 486 go wrong from the start.
Most PCs I deal with now are brand-names and "usually" come pre-tested.
I have seen quite a few actually. More AMD than Intel but I have seen bad Intel processors. A couple Cyrix also. We buy them in the groves though. How many do you guys buy in a week(processors)?
Bad CPU's? I've seen hundreds of them. In fact thousands are sold every day!!! There called "Celerons". AVOID THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!!
Just kidding about the celeron comment. I myself havent seen an AMD go bad but some people i know have. I've seen several cyrix with fried cache and 486's put in the socket backwards though
Come to think of it i had a client who put a slot A athlon into a p2 slot1 mobo and had it work for a few minutes. Don't remember all the details but the board fried but the cpu was ok.
I guess ive just been lucky, only 1 bad CPU and it was a Cyrix. Never seen a bad Intel or AMD out of the box. Seen plenty from both manufacturers that had been nuked by an outside source.
