A Welcome from me!!!!
Thank you guys!
Hi all,
just an update,
I graduated school, and got a job right away.
I'm in charge of one locations PC Repair dept,
for a rapidly growing networking company.
I work with residential clients and the network techs on
stuff they can't repair on-site.
So far, so good.
But I miss coding.
Well done Sly
Go you really miss coding?
best of luck to yer!
Congratulations! Good result.Quote:

Anywhoo, i'm kenny, 21 from Scotland.
I live in the not so nice part in the middle.
Got about 12 years computing experience behind me.
I did a short course on C++ programming and am still doodling in it.
I prefer web development though - I've built quite a few sites, mostly for myself and my band (cherokee red). You can find my site in my profile.
I write my own stuff - all my songs and lyrics are up there.
I'm good with php, that's what I built my site in. Mostly taken from phpBB and phpBB fetchall.
Think thats about it.
Welcome aboard-Kenny.
I am Robert.
Hey cherokee, enjoy the forum.
Welcome to WD cherokee red :)
Hello! :)
Figured I should post here, probably should have made this my first post, but found the forums here and got excited that maybe I will meet some others in similar situations.
Have been building, repairing, playing, tinkering, etc... with puters since I was 8. Well if you consider the TI-99 a puter. lol Mainly did my tech stuff on my own time while working in the architectural field. Finally saw an opportunity to get into computers as a profession. Been doing support now for 6 years. I do a lot, and I mean a lot of repairs on our corp laptops. I got HP APS certification, and now I make moeny for my company for doing these repairs. Oh I still do the desktopsupport rolle as well.
On the Personal side, I love Soccer and play still to this day. I enjoy cigars, motorcycles, and oh yes playing outside with my 2 kiddos.
Thats a brief enough intro. Hope to meet a lot of you guys and gals.
Welcome to Windrivers Soccermasta
There is a specific laptop forum and a couple of members are HP accredited - perhaps you should post some of the error codes there?
Ti-994a... ah, the memories... ;)
My buds and I were into Vic20s and C64s. Old school.
I really showed them up when I got my Apple IIc with double the capacity of the C64, a built-in floppy drive (5.25"), and hi resolution graphics (256 colors!!!).
I never had an apple for some reason. I did take some summer courses for them at our local high school though. Think I might have been 12???? So long ago I cannot remember anymore.
After tearing up the TI, I think my parents bought me my first real computer.
A Packard Bell 286sx. wooohoooo that was some puter. lol
Howdy Neighbor!!

Post the full details of what operating system you have, the make and model of the dvd drive and what playback software you are using.... members will then attempt to narrow down the problem and to provide possible solutions in your own thread.
