spybot won't remove dso exploit

Perfect info. Applied the instructions and wham-O, no more 1004 W-S! Be not afraid of the registry folks, you would have to spank alot of naughty keys to do wrong. Well, maybe it wouldn't take much to screw it up, but anywho, read, read, read! Use the noggin and go with what makes the most sense to you. Once again ITguy, great solution. Props to all who bust their PC's to give us all great advice.

It's easy. Start>find>folders>search>right clic and delete.

Have you looked at your host files and possible replacing them?

Hey guys, just so everyone knows you do NOT have to do anything about the DSO exploits that keep recurring. It is a bug in spybot and it will be fixed in the next version. Spybot is very aware of this problem and is working to fix it as soon as possible.

You don't have to go through all that just follow the registry keys to ALL OF THIER LOCATIONS. Delete them, no dis connect is required, restart after deleting the keys, and rerun "spybot s&d" quicker and easier. The magic is finished,Thank you.

If you, "start\search>delete" you run the risk of deleting spybot's information on "dso exploit", this would not be a good thing.

Did as I always do checked th registry and all of the keys were present deleted them myself and theyr'e gone. "The magic works still."

I followed the directions from ITguy to change the 1004 to 1003 in the regedit…all worked. But remember to edit all 0-4 folders found in the Zones areas in each HKEY_USERS… Thanks for the tips!

when i downloaded Spybot then ran it i too was told i had 5 entries of"DSO EXPLOIT". I then downloaded 2 free items from the web,SPYWARE DOCTOR & SPYWARE BLASTER and the 5 annoying items vanished after running scans using both downloads. I have since ran both of these programes 6 or 7 times and "SPYBOT" CONGRATULATES me every time. I have "TREND MICRO PC-CILLIN" also installed on my computer. Hope this helps someone. OLD LEARNER.

As an FYI the 'latest & greatest' version of spybot now has this issue fixed - so the newest verion of spybot shouldn't be reporting this at all.
