3 points to you.
If a man and a half can eat a cake and a half in a minute and a half, how many men would it take to eat 60 cakes in 30 minutes - allowing for the same situation?
__________
3. Since twice as many men can eat twice as many cakes in the same time. 3 men can eat 3 cakes in a minute and a half, or 1 man can eat 1 cake in the same time. As 1 man can eat 1 cake in a minute and a half (20 cakes), so can 3 men eat 60 cakes in 30 minutes.
2 men (1 cake per minute is the rate)
Four and a half men.Quote:

1.5 men = 20 cakes in 30 minutes (1.5 cakes per 1.5 minutes in 30 minutes)
4.5 men = 60 cakes (3 times the 20 cakes to reach 60)
If the dudes can handle it, two. Each one can consume 60 in one hour.Quote:

I believe the answer is 6 men. :thumbs2:
Although I'll be the first to admit belief is a good thing, that's not the answer. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gifQuote:

How about 16 men

__________
37. On the 36th day, he would crawl up from 35 metres to 39 but slip back to 36 metres during the night. The 37th day would see it crawl from 36 metres up by 4 metres, taking it out of the hole.
Mmmmmmmmh. Cake. (drool) https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gifQuote:

You are in a concrete room. There is a steel pipe 25cm in length cemented into the centre of the concrete floor. The pipe protrudes about 15cm out of the ground.
A ping-pong ball is dropped down the pipe. There is a fraction of a centimetre clearance around the ball and the pipe.
Your task is to retrieve the ping-pong ball undamaged.
The only available items are a wooden ruler, a ball of string, a pocket mirror, a paper clip and a small magnet. The ping-pong ball is made of plastic.
What is your plan to get the ball out of the pipe?
__________
The solution which will definitely work is to urinate into the pipe, letting he ball float to the top.
Pee in the pipe, ball floats to the top...Quote:
