seeing a post about external cables made me think about how many I have
1 all in wonder output dongle
1 all in wonder input dongle
1 cable input to AIW
2 keyboard -\
2 power |
| data switch
2 mice |

2 speaker shared with a switch
1 fastlynx cable
1 old kodak dc50 serial cable
1 USB printer
1 cat 5
17 cables on 1 poor tbird!
I have a pile behind my desk that looks to be about a foot high by 3 feet long. I have no idea how many are in there, nor do I really want to crawl under there and look.

i can straighten the tangle out one day and the next day it is tangled again...how does that happen overnite?

Well, lets see..
1. Power cables for 2 machines and 1 monitor.
2. Power cable for printer and scanner.
3. Power cable for digital camera.
4. USB cable for digital camera.
5. Parallel data cable for 1st data-switch (shares LPT1 port for printer and scanner).
6. VGA and PS/2 cable for 2nd data-switch (I've made it myself. Shares Monitor and Keyboard for 2 machines).
7. Radio card antenna cable.
8. Power cable for speakers.
9. Audio cable for speakers and subwoofer.
10. MBUS cable for my cellular phone.

Two words: wire ties. They make ones that are velcro so you can rebundle them if you move the computer. They work wonders for keeping my system neat, cause dust bunnies the size of San Francisco tend to collect behind my desk.Quote:

ISDN from pipeline to wall.
Looking at this pile of cable makes me think if theres ever a fire in my house I could probably make an escape rope to reach the ground in about 10 seconds out of the stuff I have here.

I have so many damn cables behind my desk that it looks like someone dumped a plate of spaghetti. $100 goes to the person you can sort them out in under 1 hour. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
