The nut job who runs the Compusa Call center I was working for decided, in his infinite wisdom, to lay off my boss and I, the only 2 desktop support people, and let a manager of another group take care of it. I can't wait till they try to setup all the PC's as I forgot to document my procdures before I left, Ooops.

Yeah, I got this just before christmas last year, company was going through a pretty lean period so the MD decides to sack the competent staff, keep the butt kissers and hired more salesmen, but you cant take upper managements incompetence and complete stupidity to heart <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">
It took me 3 days to find a better job, sometimes these things work out for the best.

I got it real good right now - they're doing a trial deal where I'm at, working as a co-op and learning a whole bunch of fun stuff (heh, like hacking our network <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">, DNS, DHCP and so on) but the best part is if we get axed - I'll know 3 months ahead of time <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> Just the way the budgeting works.

rule of thumb, if you get laid of, be like the russians in world war 2 and take a scorched earth policy. If you created it take it with or delete it. Sorry to here about that dude, don't worry I am sure you will find a new job.
I actually miss working for CompUSA ... i have to admit after a while it was a pain .. but i did have fun it was nice getting the parts at cost to

We have kept in touch and My wife and I are actually doing some contracts with him in our spare time. He's already told me that if any interesting job offer comes up, he'll let me know.

Don't forget about the "other guy" though. When I walked in here a couple of years ago as network manager, I received that same treatment - no docs or procedures. I work in a hospital. Sometimes you have to let your pride take a backseat to save your reputation. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">
Now if only I had the *time* to start my own documentation...
