Coalition forces just found a huge chemical weapons facility.
They did in 5 days what the inspectors could not do in 5 months.

Cool, good find! Thanks KOB for the article. That's great news because now we can be assured that we're not fighting for nothing. :)
They're talking about it on Fox News right now...
Been watching this on FoxNews (between that and the NCAA tournament). I guess the story was originally broke by a journalist travelling with the battle force. He is with the Jerusalem Post and the story published in Israel this morning. Because it came from the "Zion" press it was immediately dismissed.
Yeah Fox also had a guy in the Pentagon that verified the story and they were the first to break the story in the US.Quote:

They are reporting now that the Iraqi General in charge of the factory is now in custody. I'll bet he is gonna spill the beans!
I hope the French like cheese with their crow!!!
Let's try not to jump to any conclusions yet. Until we know that these are weapons grade anti personnel chemicals, for all we know they just occupied a pesticide plant. Give them time to investigate and get all of the proof in order. Then when we are sure what we have all already known is true, we will all go down to the French capitol together and protest their failure to support us during the UN voting!
I don't know of any countries that put an army general in charge of a pesticide plant.Quote:

However, I agree with you in part. I think the coalition forces need to make every effort to preserve these sites as evidence. They should only be destroyed if the pose an eminant danger to coalition troops or Iraqi civilians.
My thoughts exactly (I actually posted something similar at another site)!!! But not knowing the hiring practices in Iraq this may be business as usual ;) .Quote:

i think that this is a case of egg all over the face of the french, german, and russian countries intelligent services (if they did not know) or mis-informing their respective nations
There has been a rumor on all three major news networks that in the past, the French may have chem weapons manufacturing equipment to Iraq in exchange for reduced oil prices. Another rumor has the Germans selling conventional arms to Iraq for the same reason. Also, some have said that the Russians have continued to supply conventional arms in exchange for reduced Iraqi oil production (to bolster Russian oil prices on the market).
These are just rumors I think, but if there is any truth to them, it would explain an aweful lot.
I think they're going to find a number of things about France, Russia and Germany's relationship with Iraq, some of which will be released to the public and some of which will be kept quiet and used for diplomatic strong arming for a long time to come.Quote:

It looks like it was a false report; someone in the press corps got too excited and reported speculation and not reality...
ABOUT TURN OVER FACTORY
All in good time...I know we will find something. The problem is that we waited too long before we went in, all due to the effort to gain approval/support from the UN. The stalling may have put us into a hard spot. Any incriminating evidence could have been moved or destroyed. Unfortunately we are not the only ones out there looking for the smoking gun, all of those protesting our effort want us to find nothing so they can justify their stance against us, the difference is we have our own troops in harms way in order to produce this evidence…
I personally don’t need the smoking gun. I know why we are there, and I support it. Saddam is and always will be a threat to us. He has the ability to reach out and attack the innocent, both in his country and abroad, and choke the freedom right out of you. It is time he got a taste of the rape room!
NOW WE ARE BEGINNING TO UNDERSTAND ...
... why the Russians were so anxious to keep the United States out of Iraq.
Over the weekend we heard stories that the Russians have been quite active in the war effort. Quite active strengthening the hand of Saddam Hussein. We now know that Russian companies have sold several thousand night vision goggles to the Iraqi army. This removes some of the advantage that coalition troops would have during night battles.
It' gets worse.
It has now been disclosed that Russian companies, with the complete and full knowledge of the Russian government, have been selling devices to Saddam Hussein that can be used to jam the GPS signals that guide American precision-guided bombs to their targets. In fact, Russian technicians were in Iraq last week showing the Iraqi government how to use this equipment. The GPS jamming systems were hidden in shipments of humanitarian aid to Iraq during the past few months. And just who was sending this humanitarian aid? The United Nations, of course. Now we have to wonder if there was complicity on the part of some U.N. officials in shipping these military devices to Saddam Hussein.
It should be said that when the GPS signals to the precision bombs are jammed, these bombs lose their precision guidance and will strike in unintended areas. Civilians may well die in those unintended strikes ... all because the Russians want to help the Iraqis save their military targets. So, Iraqis use jamming devises to cause GPS guided bombs to miss their targets. When the bombs miss the Iraqis carry foreign journalists to see where they struck, and claim that Americans are targeting Iraqi civilians ... all with the help of our friends the Russians.
And wait again! There's still more! We also learned that Russians sold anti-tank guided missiles to the Iraqis, and that these weapons were delivered within the past two months.
Where are you getting all of this? I am not saying you are making anything up, I just want to view the source of the information, and draw my own conclusion...Quote:

So your saying you'd prefer a left-wing fringe bias like CNN or MSNBC? And I haven't seen any bias so far, and Fox is my network of choice.
