Can anybody tell me if it is possible to share an internet connection on a peer to peer wireless network with both computers running windows 98,and the computer that is hooked up to the internet is on a dial up connection to AOL.?
If it is possible ,what are the steps to do this...

First thing you need to do is setup the wireless in a peer-to-peer so that the computers can see each other, then follow the normal steps for ICS
I already did that,the computers see each other then did the ICS,I tried the ICS on both computers then just on the sharing computer.still can't connect to the internet on computer #2..Any other suggestions?
Did you follow the steps for ICS at the website i linked to?
As far as I know, AOL cannot be shared. My partner tried to do it for over a week.
It doesn't use the normal Windows tcp/ip.....
I keep forgeting that.. i knew there was yet another reason to hate AOLQuote:

Depends on what exactly you want to be able to achieve on the secondary computer. Some things are possible. :) Is it a handheld device or a traditional PC? Browsing the web only? Or using certain functions within the AOL client software?Quote:

Controlling the AOL session is a bit more complicated if you don't wanna keep going to the first computer to connect/disconnect.
I suppose the AOL software could be set to automatically connect to the internet and triggered when the network attempts to retrieve a webpage. Or using VNC software (more involved but much more convenient ultimately) to control AOL as if you were sitting in front of the first computer's monitor.
