I'm not sure if this is an ATI issue or something else but heres the deal, when I play COD, for some reasons some of the textures dont display and I can see right through objects and sometimes textures appear where they shouldnt obstructing my view. I'm using the latest drivers available on ATI's site, but issues still exist.
Im using a 9800XT if it matters.
Anyone else have this?
I don't think i'm on the latest, but i don't have that issue at all. I've SEEN it once, and only once and that was on a custom made level. 9600 Pro with 2.4.96c Omega drivers (6.14.10.6396 for the ATI version)Quote:

Well, even he can't get the nVIDIA drivers to work well compared to what he's done with the ATI drivers. So.... ATI DOES have better drivers, but like everything else, nothing is perfect.Quote:

I gave up on all the new nvidia drivers, they caused too many issues, too many stability problems, even at the desktop. I stayed with a set from the 40.21 range that where stable. Also, nVidia is the one who threatened to sue omegacorner for the modifications made to it's drivers. Overall, that last part speaks worse for the compnany then anything else they have ever done.

Nvidia are ROCK SOLID when it comes to their drivers. Must just be you and Adept.
Count me in too then. Must be a consipiracy of us numbnuts. I must have been causing the 5x series to have problems with punkbuster in Q3 engine games. It definitely has nothing to do with nvidia drivers despite 45.23 working fine and punkbuster just recently releasing a fix that "contains a temporary workaround for the lockup conflict with nVidia v5x.xx forceware drivers until nVidia corrects their backwards compatibility issues - the workaround may or may not solve the lockup problem for individual users depending on hardware combinations." Of course, it can't have anything to do with nvidia drivers because they still deny the crashes exist. I'll have to work on my idiocy vis a vis the Splinter Cell shadows bug, image sharpening bug, and memory overclock reset bug too.Quote:

OK, anything to do with OC'ing isnt a bug, you are running the card outside spec so you deserve any problems you encounter. My GF 4 Ti4600, GF 2 GTS/Pro and my TNT2 Pro and my GF4GO all work 100% and never have had ANY issue save for the 23.11 reboot issue.Quote:
