MDA... What a JOKE!

MDA what a joke. The only reason this program is on is because Jerry’s career is washed up many years ago, and this is the only way this fraud can get back in the spotlight. Do you actually think this SOB gives a sh!t? Talk to anyone who has been behind the scenes, its all about the money. Speaking of the money, WTF has all this money done? There has been no cures no nothing. And every year, “Oh were getting so close to a cure.” Yeah right. The only thing “these” people are getting close to is padding their bank account. Every year I am ashamed as an American because of this sham. I apologize for being upset, but I do not believe in this BS. Some of you may believe in it, and I wish it was for real so that we could all help these kids, however, its all about the money and so Jerry can get back on TV.

i'm sure it isnt a joke to the people afflicted by this horrible disease...and as for Jerry...i don't think being on TV once a year is that big of a deal to him...especially the way he looks now thru no fault of his own. i will put your rant down to frustration with the state of modern medicine. while i admit that jerry hasnt been funny for over 30 years, i think he really believes in what he is doing...his health isn't the best. just my 2 cents.

Yes, but why do we only here about this once a year? Do we ever hear of any progress outside of that year? You hear nothing. I don't mean to sound like a heartless person, but I am fed up with the BS that is going on. We as techs get yelled at for not getting stuff done RIGHT NOW. All we hear is "where is my solitare game?" "How come my program won't work?" You know, real important stuff like that. Look outside your own world and take a look at what is going on.

I don't know about you, but I hear about progress being made throughout the year. Especially since the young Maddie Stepanik lived around my area before he died. He was a great spokesperson regarding MDA and made frequent appearences on Larry King.

I never bother to pay attention

Actually I think Jerry ought to be congratulated for keeping Muscular Dystrophy in the spotlight once every year. If it weren't for him MD might have been lost in the sauce of the many other diseases out there.

Sure Jerry hasn't been funny in 30 years. He did slapstick & funny faces. Both are history. He also overdid them, every 90 seconds if you watch his old movies. But as long as his career is over he still spends his remaining time on earth usefully by plugging away for MDA kids.

Its a whole lot better than doing crack or meth which is what other stars in his situation do.

Yes I as you have the right that I am thankful for. I just do not like what is going on in the world. I may be wrong, and I admit that, but at least I am voicing my opinion about it. Sit around and do nothing, and what do you get? I do not want to fight with others here, but just have a discussion and some thoughts and ideas. I mean no ill will towards anyone, however, does anyone get so pi$$ed off about things that they think is wrong?

Yes Orange it is good that it is kept in the spotlight, but IN MY OPINION, I don’t believe in the underlying agenda.(My opinion to which I could be wrong) Just think about all the other diseases. Sure is funny how we only here about them when some famous individual gets it. (Magic for example)

The world MDA HQ is in Tucson, up on Sunset Drive, and I can tell ya during my 12 years in The Old Pueblo there was no love lost between Mr. Lewis and MDA and Pima County AZ. Add to that some of the hateful things Mr. Lewis has said over the past several years in re to MDA and disabled people (my son is disabled) have turned me off towards the whole deal.

I guess if you lived outside of Tucson it didn't make "much" news but the MDA & Jerry flak started in 1990. Then there was sniping going on for several years between some folks in the "loop", but not nesessarily MDA itself. Then a few years ago it escalated to this...

It angered quite a few people. It still didn't anger my wife & I nearly as much as the March of Dimes, but that's a personal story concerning my son. :mad:

That sucks as they are the only charity I have done stuff for, used to work with fund raising for thme all throughout college.
