A poem by me!

"The SS I don’t give a F!ck!"

Your standing there, at the dock
Your standing in the same old spot
The place were we always met
The place where I was always left

But some things wrong some things different
You look around there’s something missing
I’m not there my ship’s set sail
I’m on the “SS I don’t give a f!ck!”

The SS I don’t give a f!ck, a mighty ship
Full of laughter, joy and peace
No more worries, no more cares,
The SS I Don’t Give a F!ck!

I lost track of all the times
You left me at that dock in kind
Setting sail on some strange ship
You ran off with out a hint…

No clue to when you were coming back
I guess it’s hard to get off your back
So there you stand, I’m tired of waiting..
My Ships set sail, this time I’m trading…

All the thoughts I wasted on you
For a better life and someone new
So sit there at that dock and wait
The SS I don’t give a F!ck has sailed

Damn Diver, that is kind of good. Real potential. You have had some real "women" issues lately, huh? Bummer, too. To tell the truth, most of my poetry is about love and/or loss. I've been published, too. Nothing like the "heart" to bring out the creativity.

Damn, that sucks Diver. It's like Kermit the Frog used to say, "Dames -- can't live with em, can't live without em." Or was that Bugs Bunny? Or is that even what they said? Maybe it was Kenny Rogers that said it? Bah,.. I forget. Well, good luck with all that chick stuff. Chicks are great at causing unneeded drama for us dudes.

Seriously, I mentioned before here that English/Creative Writing was my "minor" in college. I have portfolios of Poetry, Prose, and Journalism. Who'd a thunk it huh? We really don't know much about anyone here, do we?
So, as a sample, and in keeping with Diver's "theme", here is one written about the "lady" I came to Florida with, and, after my XP with her, decided I preferred to be on an island:

This Darkened Road

You know I had to go girl

There should be no surprise

I gave you my world

Of unbounded love

You gave me back nothing

Illusory pleasure

Now nothing’s all I’m left with

So, just like before

I’ll continue to hold out

For all I know love can be

Not affliction and woe

You see now I’ve grown

To rise above emptiness

I’m not desperate anymore

I know what my love’s worth

Much more than some whore

Selling her principles

For some sort of score

Now solitude is frightening

And yet somehow comforting

I’ll live to dream

The dreams of old

How somewhere down

This darkened road

In the stillness of some valley gold

Lies the answer to my destiny

Not the enigma of some travesty.
