Me, I grew extremely tired of inane chat groups repeating the same-old same-old all the time and thought I could actually offer some help to people, limited as my knowledge is, just like I do in the Meals-on-Wheels program.
Sometimes we simply wanna help where we can. AND, we learn too!
BUT DON'T ASK ME FOR MONEY!

I just like to be able to give someone else the benefit of what experience and knowledge I might have, to maybe get them out of trouble.
I've got a lot of useful stuff myself that way, so it pays it back somewhat.

I don't post help - I make up random stuff that sounds like it might work, and I'm as amazed as the OP when it does. :devil:
Lately it seems like whenever I post help people yell at me for it. Either that or they just ignore my help because they just automatically assume I don't know what I'm talking about and then thank the next guy who posted the same exact help as I posted.
I.e.
User1: Where's the start button?
Me: In the lower left corner of your screen

User 1: Thanks a lot User2! You're the best!
Me: *sigh*
Funny thing about this is that I always appreciate ANY help I get. Even if it's wrong -- I'm just thankful someone would want to even try in the first place. But I guess not everyone is like that.
