I could name a few as well...

What? Not even one compaq made the list? I used to live by the saying that "Friends don't let friends by Compaq's" I am talking about when they used to use the Quantum BigFoot (5 1/4) drives and they were near impossible to work on and almost every part was propietary even down to the ram.
No list can possibly be complete without compaq's.
So true... I had a Compaq that I replaced everything on in a 1 year peiod, and it still came up with random reboots, errors, etc. I was getting a live chicken readied, when the owner went out and bought a new computer and asked me to put a few rounds through the Compaq.
dell has been putting out some (&*%^(*%( lately!

Agreed with the lack of Compaqs.
Those bigfoot drives that sounded like a jet engine winding up and the slot feed CDroms that always jammed. Yikes
HEHEHEH he said "lately":flames:Quote:

They have no AST PCs or servers on the list. Live in fear of the AST Manhattan.
And then there is western Canada's very own entry, Seanix. Only blissful ignorance on the part of the list compiler could have excluded them from a rightful position in the top five.

It is my pure and virtuous heart that
gives me the strength of ten!
It's got to be broken.
I'm surprised that Amstrad didn't make the list too...
And my all time PB competitor would be Medion.... they have picked up where even PB won't go!
I dont wanna sound stupid but i didnt know there was an APPLE 3!!
I used an Apple and an Apple IIe in school but i didnt ever see a 3!! (They must not have been very popular)
I love the original Apples...... I started programming in basic on them and then when i got my commodore 64 I WAS REALLY INTO IT!!
I have written many programs on the 64,i love it!!! (Use it often)
Ah the good days :)
Here ya go Dude111 http://oldcomputers.net/appleiii.html
Well thank you for that buddy :)
Hmmmmmm I think my favourite apple is a 2,or 2E..
Ah, the good old days when Apple's "Think Different" ruled.
Now, it's more akin to "Think as we tell you too".
I loved my Apple IIc, with the color monitor, spent 2 years saving up as a teen so I could buy a computer, and this was "it" back then for semi-portables.
Packard bell....ugh! Good thing they no longer exist in North America.
Can't believe other countries still have them.
Ah, yes reading posts from folks overseas who have Packard Bells always makes me want to rub down my entire body with disinfectant. To put it another way, Packard Bell is to computing what Down's Syndrome is to the human population.
Nice machines, after my first wife and I divorced, she bought one, and when I visited, I used to play a couple of games on it. One of them was Animals(?). The program had a list of a few animals included, and the player had to name an animal which the program attempted to match. If it failed, it asked a series of questions about the new animal and how it differed from animals in its database. It was both more fun and more challenging than it sounds.
The computer also included another game where you played sort of an Indiana Jones character in strictly 2D, single level graphics, and you had to navigate some sort of maze. My only vivid memories of the game were that I always encountered a small T-Rex while I was only armed with a machete and I died. The graphics were pink. But then I wasn't visiting my ex primarily to play with her computer.
Anyway, I think I'll just throw out a free, great book title: Apple: How Anakin Skywalker became Darth Vader.
