We should have a component swap.
That way you know you won't be getting screwed on the stuff, since we are all techs and we all sort of know each other as well. Seems safer than e-bay, where everyone i know seems to get the shaft.

Good idea. I would go for something like that and I know others would also.
But I don't think Scott would need the extra work if he handled the transactions straight from the website. What kind of a setup could we use for this without adding to Scott's workload?
A seperate forum section for trades where members handle the details themselves?
BTW, this should have been posted under "Comments and Suggestions", no?
oops/sorry. MODs, feel free to move this.

Well, until it is moved I'll continue to post here. I think a buy/sell/swap feature is a good idea and it could just be set up as another forum and all the transactions handled between the visitors with no interaction from Scott... unless he wanted to sell a 486 or something :D Of course with a big disclaimer that says windrivers can't be held responsible for any wrongdoings should there be any.

Of course.
I'm getting excited about this alerady :p
I hope the "powers that be" will look favorably upon this suggestion!
Moved to Comments and Suggestions.
Very good idea...
[H] already has this, it's very nice...I know some people on the forums who have gotten many a good deal.
So yes a For Sale/Trade would be good, especially if we could find people that live near us..

Response times like lightning...but WD still unsurpassed for answers to tough questions.
Another Good Idea I am all for.
Would like that for the fact that if I buy a crappy video card or something else from Jungle Boy then I would know where to find him to get a refund. :)

I know he does, but maybe some one should change it with the other guys. then put a lock on it.

Like you really need to bump up that post count any more... I mean sheesh.. :D
If this idea takes off there should be seperate forums UK and US. For example... The freebie forum is a great idea but I get into the form filling and find they're all for US citizens only.
I don't suppose there'll ever be any redundant kit that is worth shipping over the pond.
I think this would be a pretty cool idea. There was a site one time that I had found, but can't remember the name of it. They had hardware swapping and all, but they closed up or something like that.
I remember suggesting this a while back and it got shot down...but I still like the idea...count me in
