What do you collect?
I mentioned this in the hot deals forum and was wondering if any of you guys and gals collected anything... unusual, ordinary, whatever.
I collect shot glasses. I started when I was in high school (can't remember exactly when). The last time I counted, I had around 80 glasses. Now I estimate that I have about 125. They range from state glasses to event glasses to regular glasses. Probably the most usual ones are the glasses my brother got sent me from Korea (he's stationed there).
My grandfather has built me two cabinets to hold them all. Right now my wife and I are in an one bedroom apartment, so we don't have the wallspace to hang two (approximately) 4 ft. tall X 2 ft. wide cabinets. Plus, they weigh a lot when they're full, so I'm planning on putting a bolt into a stud just to make sure the sucker stays put. It would really p*** me off if I hung one on a nail and the thing fell and broke half my glasses. The apartment complex probably wouldn't like a for me to put a bolt in a stud in my aparment! :D
Maybe one day I'll get a pic to show ya'll.

I collect knives and swords. Sure, it gets a little scary when my wife gets angry but, she's only been able to figure out how to get the smaller ones off the walls. How deep could they go?

Used to collect stamps and coins about 5 years ago. Colleced Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars for a while too. I like the knife and sword collector thing... or like that guy in Deuce Bigalo, Male Gigalo that collected weapons.

I collect Empire movie magazine. I started 6 months after it was published and have NEVER missed an issue, I have even got all the cover gifts that came with each issue as well.
The only copy I do not have is issue number 2.

Even at 43 I still have baseball cards around. I just buy the wax packs and put them in a box (I do not open them). I also collect minerals and rocks. My wife is an avid collector of antique compacts (not compaq) :D . These are the make up compacts that are sterling silver, pewter, gold, etc. She has them going back to the Civil War era. My son and nephew are collecting glueteus maximus calluses from sitting around all summer watching the Sci-Fi channel and web surfing! :D

My name isn't just a nickname, I really AM a pack rat. It's hard to say which would be most noticable when coming into my house:
1. Plush animals everywhere (150+)
2. Animation, comic book, and illustration artwork ALL OVER the walls (the frames are touching each other, ceiling to floor)
3. The boxes and boxes and boxes of comic books (1600+ comics in my collection!)
4. The computers (11 currently)

Empty beer cans. No, not what you think. I do not even like beer. I have been collecting beer cans since 1975. I'm not currently actively collecting though, because I have no place to display them yet in my house.

My 2 biggest downfalls...I mean, collections are computer hardware/software and cars.
Currently have 2 trucks (1 dually), 6 cars and an Explorer (no Forestones, only Michelins). As a ASE-certified Auto Tech for 12 years, I guess it is more like an occupational hazard.
Also have a 9-computer network set-up am my home in one small bedroom, along with 8 or 10 other comps, some mine, some in various states or repair for others. And a 24 x 24 garage that is 2/3 full of comps I bought at an auction a couple of weeks ago as a lot sale. Took 2 dually loads to bring it all home (whew). Oh, and almost that much comp stuff in my parent's basement as well!
Ummmm, know anyone with a need for about 10 or so IBM InfoWindow Terminals???...lol...sigh..
And, even though I am 34, I fell victim to the collecting of Pokemon cards & other stuff. About $2000 invested in cards alone, plus a Import Nin64 w/Pikachu on it, Import wind-up characters, etc.
Anyone wanna make a one-time large purchase of Pokemon stuff???? lol
Anyways....we all have our hobbies, good & bad, life goes on, la-te-da, blah-blah-blah...
....and now, back to WinDrivers!
BB

"Cr*p"
at least, that's what my wife calls it!!
I collected the original line of Star Wars figures when I was young (when they first came out) and have still got them. I keep meaning to find the few remaining ones that I haven't got (only about 15) but they're real expensive now.
I'm also a James Bond fan (hey, I'm British!) and have all the videos/books/stuff that I can come by without going out of my way. I've got a couple of Cast & Crew items which are pretty cool.
I like films, so I've got a large collection of videos and DVDs which is constantly growing, but other than that I buy motorcycle magazines which get passed on to my brother-in-law.
