Them fighting words
Here ya go just curious if it varies from region to region, esp wondering about our friends overseas but what is considered a word that would basically leave you no alternative but to fight in most situations.
Here (East Coast, USA):
For a guy I would say if someone called you a *****. . That would generally be a "get ready for a fight".
For a girl although I do not know personally but from being around them I would say: **** . They seem to really hate that.
So if you are in New Jersey(prb all East) and feel like a fight there ya go.
I imagine that is pretty much the same accross the country though.
Post edited by Sheriff Q - removed explanations of censored words. Just as bad as saying the actual word.

the rest of the country: accuse someone of being from New Jersey :D :D

I havent resorted to violence in a while.
Last time was to subdue a guy at a party, he was incredibly drunk, and doped up to his eyeballs, had a sudden bout of 'little guy syndrom' (he was about 4 foot nothing) and decided to pick a fight with some poor bloke just enjoying himself.
Grabbed his head, beat it into the side of a parked car, dropped him like a sack of sh1te, and planted the knee into his stomach. Mates pulled me off him, and he got turfed out.
I felt bloody awful after it, because the whole party died, but I figured it was either him, or this other poor guy that was going to get hurt.
In short, violence is bad, dont do it, especially if you are 4 foot nothing, and the nearest 'champion of justice' is almost 6 foot.

Funny thing, one of the reasons I got the name cleetus was because I couldn't stand being called a redneck or white trash, just because I went to Texas A&M. Me and some of my friends were on a ski trip, when some drunk Northern guy starts messing with us(we were also drunk) and decides to call me a redneck white trash blah, blah blah. I didn't think I could move that fast in ski boots, or my friends either. After I slammed him agaisnt the bus windows, my friends were already pulling me off. Hehehehe, and he was the one kicked off the bus.
Funny cause now I glory in the name CLEETUS.

I used to get relly ticked when peaple called me a "big stinkin' lizzard" Now I just ignore it and roast 'em where the stand.
-
Only a couple of times...But in exactly the same situation I would do the same.
I was walking home from a bar one night [sober for once] and seen a guy about 50 meters up the road grab a girl and drag her into a park. She screamed for help.
What could I do....
Well ran up and dragged the guy off the girl she was still screaming for help, So I pulled the guy off her [I Kind of missed the fact he was a good bit bigger than me] he was about to throw a punch at me so ducked out the way I kicked him in the balls and as he went down brought my fist up to meet his face on the way down and felt a sickening crunsh of his teeth, the guy scrambled away. So I helped the girl to the side of the road and called the cops.
The cops arrived and took statements from me and took the girl to the hospital suffering from shock and to get checked over. The cops managed to catch the guy the next day. Turns out he was wanted for rape from a few weeks before. He was caught at the local hospital with a broken jaw and one of the cops from the night before rememberd the description from the night that the girl and I supplied.
I have no regrets of braking his jaw because of that he was caught and a sick guy is off the street and I saved a woman from him.
I never resort to violence unless its in self defence or protecting others. If I knew he was a rapist at the time I would of done more than kick him in the balls and break his jaw.
Cheers

New Jersey purposes,
1) It allows New York and PA to travel between each other on a fast turnpike instead of having to go though the mountains.
2) If a sunami hit new jersey would take the brunt and Philly would be the new shore.
3) Devloped an easy system, instead of asking Jersey girls where they live you ask which exit
4) Provides a safe haven for people eternaly stuck in the 80's
5) Like to think of themselfs as a state but its just a mater of time before PA absorbes them
6) Created a skanky nasty smell filthy version of Vegas and called it Alantic City, the only reason to go there is if the bars close in Philly and you still need to drink you can go there.
7) Gave the proof to other states that you don't need mountains to become a state
8) So close to having New York but that Jersey spirt took over so they created Camden and Newark.

Just yell "EAT ATTACK!!!" and I go into hyper turbo steriod injected porkbeast-slaying mode.

Cheers Papa Smurf... like to think I would do the same thing if faced with it.
Gotta get me one of those black belt thingys.

when people want to fight me i'll start acting like im handycap and then they leave me alone.
j/k hehehehe
i try not to let words get to me, last fight real fight i got into was in grammer, im kool with everyone.
i did fight with my friend when i was drunk but we almost always fight when we are drunk, that was just playing around even though i did wake up the next day with a bunch of bruses , but so did he :D

Way to be man. That is the way I try to do things. Only if a person is very deserving of my rage, do they ever get what they deserve.

So then ignore it. If you ignore it it goes away faster and dies a quick death. Just don't post to it if you think it's pointless.
By the way I understand that by posting to a topic to decry pointless topics is rather ironic (Is that the right word?).

I believe that is the correct usage. See for yourself.
i·ron·ic (-rnk) also i·ron·i·cal (-rn-kl)
adj.
1. Characterized by or constituting irony.
2. Given to the use of irony. See Synonyms at sarcastic.
3. Poignantly contrary to what was expected or intended: madness, an ironic fate for such a clear thinker.

1 year for me - too much Jagermiester (also - too much maj jung - I spelled it wrong but it's a legal pep pill) and while trying to stop a fight between a guy and my friend the one guy just pushed all the wrong buttons on me for no reason. I always thought it was like in the movies - when you hit them they fall. In reality you hit them in the face and they get like "Ow - damn!" and get dizzy, but don't really fall over. Then it's becomes a big wrestling match and afterwards your hand you slugged them with hurts a lot.
Fighting is stupid.
-
Bravo Papa Smurf.
I almost got in a few fights down at the Pub recently with some drunk rednecks who wanted to start trouble...
Funny thing is, when they see the look in my eyes and realize I haven't been drinking all night they seem to find something else to occupy their attention...
It's just as well, I really don't like fighting..

Well well,
I was edited because of personal attack. I guess you have to do what is deemed fit but I really did not consider that a personal attack. My take on that is "If the shoe fits......." Hell, I've been called that many times and rightfully so in thier eyes. Sometimes I might even consider being called that a "badge of honor". Guess everyones different and you have to take everything and everyone in account, so OK, understood. BTW-Thought I was "pushing the envelope" with the topic but thought it may turn out to be an interesting thread so worth a shot. But was not trying to see what I can get away with :) .
As far as the other comment to show respect, blah blah blah, did alot for this community blah blah blah. I consider myself a respectful person but I also believe that you get what you give. If I am respected I shall return the same, if I am disrepected I have no problem returning it (although as I mentioned I don't believe I have even done that because Just tellin it like it is). And I have no problem returning it no matter who you are. ;)
I am not trying to make excuses cause I owe that to noone just trying to explain a different perspective.
Papa Smurf mega mega kudos to you. The world needs good samaritans. Wonder if things might've been different if people like you were all aboard the planes that hit the WTC.
I agree that violence is not always the answer however sometimes is necessary. That is rather unfortunate but it just a way of life.
PS
Cletus, your show was on yesterday. "Back you go to wait for a woman with less discrimating taste."

2) If a sunami hit new jersey would take the brunt and Philly would be the new shore. Philly needs all the help it could get. The shore would be even dirtier than it is now.
3) Devloped an easy system, instead of asking Jersey girls where they live you ask which exit I guess it is the same as asking Philly guys how long they've been in prison, or what their favorite weapon to conceal is.
4) Provides a safe haven for people eternaly stuck in the 80's PA provides a place for people not cool enough to live in NYC, but yet too boring to live in Jersey.
5) Like to think of themselfs as a state but its just a mater of time before PA absorbes them I'll say it again. PA needs all the help it can get. UPenn ain't a real school.
6) Created a skanky nasty smell filthy version of Vegas and called it Alantic City, the only reason to go there is if the bars close in Philly and you still need to drink you can go there. And Atlantic City is STILL better than hanging out at the Liberty Bell.
7) Gave the proof to other states that you don't need mountains to become a state PA has shown that you don't need good schools, normal people or competant leadership to be a state.
8) So close to having New York but that Jersey spirt took over so they created Camden and Newark. Both cities are still nicer and cleaner than Philly

I believe the same thing 99% of the time, but the other 1% comes into effect when you get some guy/lady telling you that you must respect them because blah, blah blah and then proceed to treat you bad.
Those people face the wrath of the cleetus or at least see his backside as he simply turns and walks out the door.

When I heard the girl for help I didnt even think twice about stepping in to help her. What pi$$ed me off was a couple of guys noticed this happening as well and walked away..cheers for the backup whoever you were.
I had always wondered what I would act like under a situation would I walk away and pretend i didnt see anyting, would I shout for help as well and let someone else sort it out or would I jump right in and help out.
The only other time I have been in a direct fight was when a guy started laying a girl. Muggins here steps right in to break them up and takes a punch straight to the face [left a rather cool scar above my left eye] so what the hell he struck 1st so I punch him once and he goes down on his a$$. OK I admit I'm not the biggest person in the world or the strongest by any mean but I was suprised as the guy on hid a$$ when he went down. I told him if he wanted more to take it outside and not to f**k around pushing girls around.
I would NEVER leave a girl in trouble. But facing a group of terrorists hijacking a plane is a diferent story. I hope I would find the strength to do something but I really dont know how I would feel at the time [probably scared and wanting to hide under the nearest seat].
I dont class myself as brave or a hero of any sort. I'm just a guy thats helped a couple of girls in a dangerous situation.
Real heros are the firemen, police and paramedics that went into the WTC to save others knowing the building would collapse.
Cheers
