This is what I found out so far:
Smoke poured out of a gaping hole in the upper floors of the World Trade Center on Tuesday and there were broadcast reports a plane had struck it.
In Washington, officials said the FBI was investigating reports of a plane hijacking before the crashes.
There was no immediate word on injuries or fatalities in the twin disasters, which happened shortly before 9 a.m. and then right around 9 a.m.
The towers were struck by bombers in February 1993.
"The plane was coming in low and ... it looked like it hit at a slight angle," said Sean Murtagh, a CNN vice president, the network reported.
Large holes were visible in sides of the 110-story buildings, landmark twin towers.
"I was watching TV. and heard a sonic boom ...," witness Jeanne Yurman told CNN. "The side of the world trade center exploded. Debris is falling like leaflets. I hear ambulances. The northern tower seems to be on fire."
The tops of the twin towers were obscured by the smoke.
Thousands of pieces of what appeared to be office paper came drifting over Brooklyn, about three miles from the tower, one witness said.
The center bombing on Feb. 26, 1993, killing six people and injured more than 1,000 others.
I just saw it on TV. Braking News reporting the two strikes. I don't know the cause and I haven't heard anything newer than this, but what has happened is really shocking!

Yup, pentagon was hit and the are clearing out the white house. A friend said they called her brother in (he is airforce) and said they are grounding all planes.
all major airports have been shut down

President Bush made a brief statement to reporters, calling the disaster a “national tragedy” and attributing it to terrorists. He did not cite any specific terrorist groups.
I'm sure we will taken action and a big one, atleast I hope. To let something like this go would be a worse tragedy. All the planes filled with people, along with the people in the buildings. I also heard, fighter jets are coveing D.C.
Man am I glad that I told my company I couldn't go to New York yesterday.........My heart goes out to all the families of those who lost their lives because of this henous act. USA it is a time to kick some ***.

Just saw the second tower go down on CNN, they have a second plane going for the pentagon and they have scambled falcons after it. What I want to know is where was the security. I can understand the trade centres not having SAM's but the pentagon should have had some.

AP reported a 767 down near Somerset airport about 80 miles from Pittsburgh. USAirway reported one of their planes was crashed near the Pentagon. Reports of another hijacked plane moving into Washington DC area. Military jets are flying air cover over DC.

It seems who claims or was involved in the attack will be down for a major A$$ kicking.
Of course it will be polical, like the Gulf War was. We should have shot Sadam Hussain when we had the chance, it may have stopped things like this happening. Once you are seen as being easy on one person, everyone wants to have a go at you.
On a similar note I hear that Hussian has shot down another US Spy plane.
Looks like the smelly, brown stuff is about to hit the big, whurly thing.
