Well there was an upgrade to UBB 6.1.0.2
Maybe the chat server caught something nasty, I know of 3 completely separate 2k installs that suddenly became total trash on reboot - one of them was mine :(
Noo - the chatroom is run on forums.windrivers.com - the same server as the forums, and they are still working. Im guessing chatspace crashed and just needs to be restarted, but someone please start it damn, i miss my chat :(

If you are all going through chatroom withdrawl, why don't you try out this one from a site that was posted in the site review forum. Then give the webmaster some feedback. Kill two birds with one stone
