I'm going to a senior prom with a girl that I really like any advice on how to have a good time and what NOT to do?
keep it clean please.
we all know what to do if the time comes to it, but as I have never been to a prom (we don't have them in the UK) I cannot suggest anything.
Just make sure that you get some good pictures though to share with us all :)
im now 17 I don't go to the same school as this girl it started out with her asking me to the prom and myself going as a favor to her. but now we are talking alot and going out together.
just interested in some opinions , thanks
Be yourself have fun......(wow, it seems like 4EVER since Prom)...
Anyway, depending on money...limo's are always fun...and impressive...

Ok....what DO you already have planned...maybe then we can be of more help...
A good start when taking a girl out is not to drink too much (even if you haven't got a bar that serves alcohol there, you may sneak some in) and make sure that you are not sick at all. Take some mints with you definatly, as even if you don't suffer from Halitosis, it helps. Don't get heavy too quick unless she does first.
for god's sake DON'T drink and drive...you could hit a bump and spill your drink on her. ;)
OMG what the heck am I saying ( smacking forehead) your not old enough to drink yet!!!
Corrupting a minor great thing to have on my rap sheet. J/K
The limo thing is great, be yourself and enjoy the night. Have a great time!! :D :D :D
Just remember "NO" means "NO"! :p
Or maybe it means "Let me think about it after I've had a few beers". I forget.
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T TALK COMPUTERS!!!
Some other pointers from a former Philly guy:
- Taking her to the local steak shop does not count as a "steak dinner". Blow the wad, go someplace nice.
- The police station at Bridge & Pratt (personal experience) is NOT a romantic place (even if the other inmates think so) so I agree with the don't drink thing.
- Head for the shore afterwards, if you can afford it.
- Above all, do what comes naturally (not that, ya pervs!) and HAVE FUN! Trust me when I say you only get one, so make it count. (Can you tell I blew it on my prom night?)
(I went to Lower Moreland H.S., BTW, if ya know where that is...)
Amen Snommis!!!! :D :D
STAY AWAY FROM THE GEEK SPEAK!~!!! ;)

hehe she knows what " all you base are belong to us" means so I guess im all set. :D
CD,
I don't know about you boys from Philly but in Jersey we all head to the shore to party. Seaside is crazy on prom weekends. :D
actually the prom is in lansdale ( suburbs )
Aren't I a nice guy? :D
hmm id suggest .. .. what i did on my prom .. have a good time .. drive all around .. if you wake up the next day and dont remember it .. then it was great ... just avoid the action .. theres a time and place for it ..
(i still cant believe your only 17)
Just relax be yourself, Have a ball, When I went to the prom we went to the Grad night party at Disney Land. But if you do go partying after 1. Be nice, 2. Be careful,
3. Heaven forbid but if you must drink, DON'T DRIVE! 4. Treat her like a Lady!,
5. If SHE choose's remember no glove no love!
Have a Great time!
Not a whole lot to do in Lansdale but "cruise the strip", and it ain't much of a strip. If you are that far out already, why not head to New Hope? If you've never been up there, it is pretty cool.Quote:

Have a Blast just go with the flow of things CD.....
probably gonna hit a friends party afterwards and spend the night there.
Don't worry I don't DWI.
I hope all goes well :) and I'll see if I can get some pictures up afterwards.
Hey, I was going to go to Sr. Prom too. But I figure with no date and being 30, I would probably get arrested.
That was going to be my suggestion. Don't know what your relationship is like, but be prepared for what may happen even if there's only a .011239% chance. If you aren't planning on that kind of activity, then kudos to you. But if you're even harboring some remote hope, then for heaven't sake BE PREPARED with the proper safety equipment.Quote:

CD, here are some things you should not do on a first date. http://www.networkdating.com/articles/datingdonots.htm Hope this helps.
Just remember the basics, Get the door for her, even if she insists. Buy the prom Pics for her,(spendy), Don't have a mind set off any expectations, Women have a sensor and they seem to know what you want and then they don't give it to you. :D
Try not to dance with other girls unless you've wrecked the date *reflects back to senior prom*(We went as freinds and we only danced once together) :(
Try to do something to make it memorable not only for you but for everyone in your party.
"Wrap that rascal"
Be a gentleman. There is still room in the world for us guys that open doors, and stand when a lady leaves or returns to the table. Listen to what she has to say and remember to make her feel special. This is a special night for her. I also have to agree with the no drinking and driving the concequences can be terrible. My 16 yr old daughter was lost in a driving accident. We never think it can happen to us or ours. Have fun and make it a night to remember.
Be yourself. Don't put on an act to try and impress her. Then if she likes you, you will know it's for the right reasons.
I have that covered , in more ways than one :DQuote:

The Jersey shore?! That was way, way uncool, even for my Prom. Most of us hung out in the city around Times Square, pretty trendy for a bunch of 17 year olds. I find the Jersey shore reeks, and who wants to hang out in 50 degree, smelly, mud brown water? I'm from Jersey, so this isn't a flame, just a very unfortunate fact.Quote:

hit dem skinz lol sorry had to do it just dont get her pregnate
Hey I live in Ambler so I could drop by and do the silly Monkey dance, girls love that.
Really, have fun, keep the conversation light, don't try to hard to be funny or smart or impresive. Treat her like a princess, open all doors for her, stand up when she leaves the table, give her your arm when you are walking and escort her, compliment her on her dress, make up, perfume, tell her how good she looks, if you get caught looking at her say you can't help it because she is so beautiful, make sure she is happy, dance when she wants to dance, and always ask her permission to kiss her.
You were doing great up to here. If the moment is right, go for it. Don't spoil what could be a very special moment for the both of you by asking if it's okay to kiss her. That will bring everything to a screeeching halt, the moment will turn awkward, and you'll lose your momentum. Carpe diem.Quote:

Yeah your right but if you do it the right way then you come off as a gentalman, the worst feeling in the world is to go for a goodnight kiss and get denied. However if your in a situation and you feel like it is going to happen go for it, sometimes it happens sometime you have to ask. When my girlfriend an I first kissed, we were tickling each other and then it just happend, but if nothing had of happend that night I was going to take her down to a nice spot and take her hand and just tell her I had storng feelings for her and I would like nothing better at this time to kiss her to show her how I felt because words could explain it. Yes it's sappy and it not like my normal playfull monkeyboy self but around my girl I get like that.Quote:

I'll let you in on a little secret . . . unless you're a really bad date, there's little chance you'll get turned down for a goodnight kiss. If you're not getting a kiss it'll be very, very obvious, because having to turn someone down is very embarrassing for everyone.
Okay, I see your plan Elbatcho. In that scenario, asking for a kiss will work but silently moving in for the kill will work too. It's just as bad to have someone say no, as to have the mouth flinch away from yours. I get chills just thinking about that particular scenario.
BTW, I think it's sweet that you're all luvvy-duvvy with your woman. You're just a big cuddle-bunny at heart and Cobra will kick your soft behind at the Pay-per-view.
I see what your are saying and it makes sense, noting should kill that one special moment.Quote:

Yeah I know Cobra is going to pound his number one ex lackey into the ground, but at least I will go down with everyone knowing I could be nice when I wanted too. Man it's sad no one is backing me.
No ElB, you've got it all wrong. I am rooting for you, to lose, but I'm behind you 100% (to lose). So good luck.
1. Slam bout 3 of your most favorite beers...
2. Pick her up at her crib (don't wreck)...
3. Be very gentlemen like, open doors, pay for what ever she wants, hold her hand, etc etc...
4. Tell her how beautiful she is and how much you'd like to (insert action here) her...
5. Dance for a while, go to the after parties...
6. Keep kissing her $ss and keep paying for what ever she wants...
7. Tell her how much you want to (insert action here) her...
8. Duck so she doesn’t hit you...
Just Kidding CD! Good luck to you my friend and remember, proms are memories you will never forget, so make it a good one...
Sweet! I just had my senior prom a short while back, I opted for my dads 1973 Triumph spitfire MKIV instead of the whole Limo thing. We at the Hawks Nest (restraunt overlooking the new river gorge, and the bridge...longest arch bridge in the world!)
We didnt drink at all, neither of us drink too often.
Sucking the helium out of the balloons is funny.
Spend more time with her than you do with your buddies.
If you dont ask her to dance every dance, believe you me you will hear about it
Remember your raincoat....you know what I mean...
Hmmmm.....I cant think of anything else.
By the by, is this your first prom?
