Too bad the Moore's law is only about the processors. :D :D
God I hope there isn't another version of Windows coming out. They haven't even perfected the last 7 that came out. :p
I've heard something similar but can't remember where or from what source I heard it from. If it's true, I wonder if this means MS will require everyone certified on Win2K to recertify....
After a quick Google search, the things that I've read seems to say that Win 2002 is the server version of XP. Don't know if this is right or not, just what I've read...

I think I've read the same somewhere. Maybe in a magazine..
Well Office XP is Office 2002.
So I would think,
Windows XP Server Would be Windows 2002!
But I could be wrong
I just checked M$ website but found nothing about Win2002.
I don't think it exists, not even in server..
home and pro desktop versions of Windows are XP
server editions are supposed to be .NET Server
Maybe it is a code word. Just like "Whistler".
Windows 2002 is also knows as Windows XP server. It is slated to be released during Spring/Summer of 2002 I believe. It is designed to replace all Windows 2000 servers and Windows NT servers. There will be several versions of Windows XP server just like there was several versions of Windows 2000 server. Not much new here. It only get's confusing because between, years, abbreviations, and damn code names, Microsoft can't come up with and stick to a damn name!
In fact, WindowsXP Home Edition has the 2002 logo watermark on the original installation CD. I just saw it on a customer's driver pack.
Yea, I could never understand why Microsoft couldn't decide between 2002, XP, and Whistler. It just makes things so much more confusing the the users in the end. Because if I say something about XP or 2002, they always seem to be familiar with the opposate termonology I am using. Then I have to explain that XP and 2002 is the same thing. Uhhhhhh............. Sigh..........
I feel your pain...
BTW, if you right-click "My Computer" on a WinXP Home Edition-based machine you'll see "Version 2002" among other things under the General tab.
This is what I learned today.
Just to say something: got my TechNet Jan 2002 with Beta releases for 3 new servers based on .NET - Web, Standard, and Enterprise. Also, have XP Pro running, right-clicking on My Computer shows Version 2002.
