Stupid PC commercials.
The worst has got to be the one with the Dance tunes going in the background while they sing
"Do you really what a clone?.........Do you really what a clone?"
I was so annoyed with the nonsense of making fun of Clone's that I don't even know what they were advertising I thin it was IBM.
-
5 words:
"Dude, you're getting a DELL"
  :D
-
both of those are terrible, I DEFINITELY agree... had to put up with both of them WAY too long...
-
How about the chick that sings "IPC" at the end of there commercial.

-
I really despise the radio shack commercials with howie long. Radio Shack should change their saying to "You've got questions, we've got cheaply made computers to make you call us to ask them"
-
The new Windows XP commercials...come one, is XP suppose to make you fly now?
-
The latest Toyota Camry commercial makes me want to throw my TV out the window.
-
Well, there really is very little PC advertising on TV down here. We get the odd IBM commercial, but generally, they're quite good.
The new Camry ads here are an abomination too, any of the ads for WWF matches make me chuckle, and the ads portraying perfect, functional family units, enjoying each others company, over a bucket of fried chicken, they usually arouse feelings in my colon.

Oops,.. I guess that doesn't really have anything to do with a PC. But I still hate that commercial. :D
-
I watch those idiots on QVC selling their junk for exorbitant prices just for the chuckle value.
-
Well the new alien P4 commercials are a step up from the "Blue Men" commercials!
The new AOL propaganda er...commercials are uh informative ;) sorta of like toe jam! :D

Same here. It is for IBM desktop PCs.
I rant and rage everytime it comes on by screaming back "Yes, I *do* want a clone - not some inferior product built from lowest-bidder parts!!!"
My wife thinks I'm nuts :D
-
I can't stand this radio ad for Future Shop (who has been recently bought up by Best Buy) talking about "the local computer geek who would come over to your house and set up your new PC. Well, that's the kind of support you'll get from Future Shop..."
Any of you with an ounce of knowledge about Best Buy computer support - well Future Shop isn't any better. And soon all the Future Shop stores will be converted into Best Buy's...
-
I've got one thats kinda...different...
The Cox communications ad where the guy is driving home with a couple of guys he works with, and the first guys opens the door and jumps out onto his lawn while the car is driving, and the second guy in the car gets is helmet ready, cuz he's gonna get dumped in his yard too, all because the guy driving is in a rush to get on his puter and surf the net on his cable modem....
The best parody commercial is that of Dell's first add with "Steven" ANYHOO! :D , here's a link to the parody, click on the "Video Highlight" on the right side of the page! :D

We have a commercial for cable hi-speed access, it is a parody of one of those collector shows where they appraise an antique on the show. The guy on the commercial apprases an external 56k modem that was dug up by the family dog as worthless.

I couldn't agree more, I hate those stinkin Dell commercials.
-
All of the AOL Platinum (or whatever their latest one is) where the kid says "Wow! I'm surfin' the net!"
"Wow!"
"Wow!"
I just wanna yell out "Wow! You're being paid to act like a doofus!"
-

Agreed...LOL..I just want to say "It's so easy to get disconnected!"
Oh yeah, and now CNN is constantly on due to the terrorism events, and guess who owns CNN
-
I think the worst is the IBM clone one. I don't want no pugly *** girl in my face sayin "NO WAY". And look what you get for that: It crap.

That commercial came on the TV just as I was reading this. That scared me.
And I'd say the worst commercial commercial is where... let me see if I can get all the incongruities... an oversized (at least 2/3 the screen) MacOS-style message box pops up and displays each word in sync with a text to speech along the lines of "You have come to the end of the Internet. You have seen all there is to see. Please recall now." Maybe it was 'redial' or something like that. But it was for DSL or cable or something. I lost interest in the product quickly. But let's recap... we have a MacOS message box telling someone (literally) they've 'finished' the Internet while using their wonderful always-on product... and now have to redial a phone? Now speaking hypothetically, this will somehow resolve their lack of new information?
The knowing mind boggles.
Oh, and I find the MSN commercial flat out saying it's "agood alternative to AOL" mildly amusing. On many levels.
-
The Dell comercials are the best. Sure they're stupid and they repeat everything you've heard before. But they are also very effective. Its fun to watch how these various companies cast for customers. Remember, of all the products we buy in our life a computer is "way out there." How do you sell something that almost no one understands? Its a hell of a challange.
-
I'd have to say that the stupidest PC commercials are Gateway commecials. Now with talking cows...
Can it get much worse?
Kenny P.
ps: anyone notice that your name has become the URL of the avatar? Let's see if that changes with an update...
pps: It did! I edited my profile, replaced my Display Name with Kenny P. instead of the location of my avatar and voila!!!
-
I say dell rates right up there.
With that dude who is suppost to be cool. I think there in a major store. I'm really getting tired of those.

I've seen that one; it is for Direct TV DSL. It is pretty stupid, he is surfing and gets an error message that he is done surfing the Internet. But while it is just dumber then sh*t to us, it is a very good commercial idea for the average home user. I can see how it would be very appealing to someone that has never used DSL and has always used dial-up.
-
ok, so it's not a PC commercial, but I HATE that damn "zoom zoom" kid in the Mazda commercials. AHH!!! everytime he says it I just want to hurt someone.
Um, yeah, I hate those Dell commercials too.
-
The two that are starting to bug the hell outta me is the AT&T commercial for their broadband service. It's a parody of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" where the guy calls up his friend as a life-line and his internet connection keeps dropping so he can't find the needed information.
The other is the new Intel commerical with the damn space aliens. How the hell do you go from the Blue Man Group to space aliens? I guess I'll never understand that company.
-
Those stupid Dell commercials featuring that hideously ugly "surfer dude" kid is pissing me off more than making me want to buy one of those craptastic PCs.
Gateway's latest commercial is really dumb too. A decent machine with Windows XP and a TFT display for $999? All that makes me want to do is buy it so I can scrap it for parts.
-
The Gateway Cow's are the wrost.
-
The radio commercials for Shaw cable are annoying. Where the kids are threatening to take over the library until they all get high speed cable internet.
My company just released a commercial for their retail side. I can't help but laugh, but only because I work here and I know what our techs do to systems.
-
I can't stand the dsl/cable adds down here as each tries to top the other with stupidity
-
ANY comercial that has that awful FAKE MOUSE CLIKING SOUND. I hate that!!!! It is so frickin annoying.
-
I actually called one of those qvc type commercials once - it was late night tv and they ran an infomercial about a great 'standard' pc - however, I found so many lies and half-truths that I HAD to call! They're first question to me was 'What credit card would you like to use'. They were so evasive to my questions (and there wasn't a manager on the floor to talk to - how convenient) and shortly became very rude after realizing that I wasn't buying!
Gateway commercials are the one that get me - if they 'don't need a gimmic', then why do they have a cow on the box? What the $&(* does a cow have to do with computers?
-
The only computer related commercial that I thought was funny was for a website, Outpost.com.
The commercial had them trying to shoot a gerbil through the "O" of their logo. Hilarious!
I hate the new XP commercials. I can picture Bill Gates dancing around his office listening to Madonna. What were they thinking.
-
I seem to recall an AOhelL commercial where this doofus actually said, "It's like a one way street, that goes both ways." I can only hope that he got paid union scale or less to utter such tripe..... :D
-
The Gateway talking Cow. Like he's got this cool laid-back voice and all, and he's talking to the dude in the ponytail as if the gateway country stores are the hotbed of the next best thing in the PC world, i.e XP.
STUPID!
-
LOL... Yeah I hate that Gateway commercial,
I think we all KNOW that guy couldn't debug a
computer to save his butt !! :p (Much less build a unit that works !!!) One other amusing thing to think about... Will the Compaq head do all the talking (and selling ) or will the Hewlitt head
try to sell consumers little internet-ready boxes ? I am a Laptop/Notebook Tech and I CAN"T WAIT :D
-
Just a thought but I couldn't help but wonder when I was going to see a Pig flying in THAT commercial.
Well I guess it has caused me some chucklesome moments.
-
Now I'm getting a kick out of what the commercials are supposed to be doing. making you remember them.
It is real funny reading what truly the best commercials are.
:) Thats what they want "you to remember their name," not the emmy for the best commercial. :)
-
Yeah, but if you remember them because they're so @0!)damn annoying, are you really going to buy their product?
My least favorites are:
AOL's misinformation propaganda
Like a new version of software will make 'the Internet' faster.
Intel's CPU hype
"Our CPU has cool videos for aliens in it!"
Windows XP
Like Microsoft needs to show us that they have enough $ to license Madonna...
-
Th XP commercials aren't that bad they did get a worth while Singer Madonna
Ouch she's still got it even at her age.
