Anyone else here wear jewelry? Rings, watches, necklaces, etc? Does it ever interfere with your tech work?
I wear two rings, one on each hand. One is a silver ring with rainbow colored stones, the other is a gold ring with a HUGE sapphire (about 2 or 3 carats!) and 4 small diamonds. The metal on both rings is a bit scratched, with the silver being a bit worse for the wear (probably because its on my right hand). Fortunately, sapphire is a 9 on the Mohs scale, so nothing short of a diamond will scratch it, however, I have knocked it out of its setting once. (I actually have a third silver ring on my toe, but that obviously never gets in the way)
I used to wear wrist watches, but they tend to get really badly scratched up, much worse than my rings. Cracked a crystal on one once when I hit it against a corner inside a case. I've taken to carrying a pocket watch instead.
I also wear a medicine bag around my neck, and this tends to get in the way more than anything else. Whenever I lean over a system, it tends to dangle down into it. Fortunately it's leather and non-conductive. If it were a metal chain (like I used to wear), I probably would have blown up more motherboards than I could count!
