who would win in a fight between spiderman and wolverine?

sometime in the mid 80's marvel did a graphic novel about wolvie & spidey. at first they were cool, then they got into a fight and a very good fight at that. they fight ended up being a draw, but then they went back to being cool. of course marvel would never let either one be a clear cut winner as they are both good guys, but my money would be on wolvie. hes almost as fast as spidey, has had tons and tons of martial arts training, has his claws and his healing factor plus he has a total mean streak in him.
I think it would depend on various factors about the fight. Where would they be fighting? Spiderman would have a slight advantage if the battle took place on a skyscraper or someplace without a definate "floor." Wolverine would be better off on the ground. Did one sneak up on the other? If Spiderman got the drop on Wolverine, he could catch him in a web. If Spiderman was lucky, he might even catch Wolverine in a way to disable Woloverine's claws (Wolverine's forearms could be stuck to a wall or tried together.). That's a big "if" though considering Wolverine's animal senses, or his ability to smell and hear things normal people can't. I'm not sure that Wolverine could catch Spiderman off-ground because of his Spider-sense. I'm sure there's a way, but I don't know how.
I think the odds are a bit more in Wolverine's favor, though. Like Buddy mentioned, Wolverine has a mean, "I don't care" attitude. If Spiderman attacked Wolverine, Wolverine wouldn't just defend himself. He would make try to make Spiderman pay for trying to attack him. I don't think this is true the other way around. I think Spiderman would be more defensive than aggressive if Wolverine attacked him.
However... Ok, I'm putting way too musch thought into this...
one more thing to consider, in whose comic book is this fight taking place? wolvies or spideys? if its in wolvies book, hes gonna win and vice versa. i always hated that about comic books.
on a side note, anyone else read the marvel vs dc book they put out a few years ago. superman beat the hulk, wolvie killed lobo, robin and jubliee fell for each other, and batman and captian america faught to a draw and figured the whole thing out and saved the day. it was cool
okay, they are fighting in an empty warehouse.
I think spiderman's webs would be useless vs wolverine's claws.
I would like to see jubilee and robin fight! lol :D
ok, now the question to end all questions, who win, Superman or Super-Sayain Goku? i have to go with Goku on this one.
Is this the Wolverine with the adamantium-laced skeleton or the Wolverine without it? Is this the Spiderman with the symbiote (black) costume or without it? Either way, my money would be on Wolverine. Those claws are just too lethal. I think all Spiderman could do would be to ensnare Wolverine so he couldn't attack. Wolverine would still have his claws, though. Webbing doesn't stand up to the claws. :D :D

Wolvie isn't in the same strength class as Spidey. Last time I saw one of those Marvel Universe books, Wolvie could lift/bench 500lbs due to his adamantium skeleton, while Spidey was around 10tons. Spidey can dodge bullets, which gives him a huge speed advantage. Spidey can't break his own webbing, so webbing Wolvie's arms to his own body would pretty much end the fight. Well at least until Spidey's web dissolved in an hour or so.
In seceret Wars Spidey eavesdrops on the X-men. He pretty much beats all of them and easily eludes them to "escape".
However, Wolverine did go toe to toe with the Hulk who gets considerably stronger than Spidey...Several times..and in one instance he did a menage O three with Hulk and Wendigo...

If you're referring to an all out, fight to the death brawl, then Wolverine would eventually get the better of Spiderman.
His recuperative abilities and his healing factor would, in the end, come to exhaust Spiderman abilities. (I recall an episode where he actually healed from flesh and muscles burning off his adamantium-laced skeleton <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> )
If you're talking about a quick slugfest, Wolvie would get his butt handed to him, no questions asked. Spiderman's enhanced reflexes and "spider-sense" would just serve to enrage Wolverine as the latter wouldn't be able to connect with his target. Spiderman's quick wit and taunts would literally make Wolverine go berzerk. :D

I beg to differ:
<a href="http://www.marvel.com/comics/bios/bio_wolverine.htm" target="_blank">Wolverine's stats</a> are higher only in durability and fighting skills as compared to <a href="http://www.marvel.com/comics/bios/bio_spiderman.htm" target="_blank">Spiderman's stats</a>. In all other cases, Spiderman has more strength, speed, faster reflexes, is more agile and is not just a bit more intelligent but a lot.
So my first statement still stands. 'Nuff said (as Stan Lee used to say :p )
This is like comparing captains of the Enterprise: Kirck or Picard? There's just no clear-cut answer.
PS An old friend of mine would literally fly off the handle and start foaming at the mouth when one alluded that Batman and Robin's relationship was more than just amiable when the tights came off. As a matter of fact, he was the only one could beat me at armwrestling during our "guys' night out" way back when - he just asked a friend to blurt out "Batman loves Robin" at the appropriate time. ...and I can't make sense of just why I brought that up. :rolleyes:
i dont know if you guys ever read the marvel "what if" comics.
but they did have a good one called what if wolverine was lord of the vampires. all the superheroes and villians where vampires including spiderman and the punisher kills them all, except wolverine he kills punisher at the end.
also there was another kool one called what if the hulk went bizzerk,
the hulk went crazy and started destroying everything and thor starts fighting him, at the end thor breaks his neck.
i always liked the what if comics they should make more, or make cartoons based on them
