Grand Theft Auto 3
Has anyone here played this game yet? It freakin rockz!!! 100 times better than the first two. I've been playing through the missions, but there is enough interesting things to do around town to keep you busy.
Here's a sweet shot of me going for an insane stunt bonus in my beat-up (stolen) cop car:

There's a ramp at the other end of this row of trailers - and a long straightaway in front of that. :p I made it (believe it or not) and got $5000 in cool cash for risking my life. :)
-
Ive been playing it on Playstation 2 since it was released some months ago, and the PC version gets released down here tomorrow, which I will also be purchasing.
I love the game to bits, it never fails to amuse me.
-
I can't wait to get it, for thoose who have it a and it and are having problems you need to download a patch from MS
-
I've already beaten the game on PS2. Absolutly best game I've ever owned. I won't buy the computer version as they havn't added anything new (to the best of my knowlege). But if you don't already own it, and your computer will support, definatly get the computer version. The graphics look even better.

Got to test run this game on a customer's computer. Now I wish I had the money to purchase it.

game works great on pc..and i really like it...
i am still learning game and dont have map or instructions for any assistance....
someone told me that you can talk to the hookers in the game......i have not been able to do this...does anyone know how??
and is there any cool things i should know about the game....
-
Okay, I will add it to my "must have" list.
Is anyone in here using a steering wheel? If so, which one would you recomend?
-
As far as racing wheels go, I'd recommend The Interact Ultra Racer PC. It's basically a handheld controller with a rubber knob on top you use to steer, and a trigger underneath you can use to accelerate or brake. Plus four buttons on top. It's good if you don't want to sink a lot of money into a full-blown wheel and pedals. Only thing is, I don't know if they make it anymore. :(
I'm saving mine for the upcoming release of Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2... {drools} :D

Edit: Okay, the title says Ultra Racer PC but the picture shows N64

To talk to the hookers, you must be in a car.
Drive your car up next to one of the 'ladys of the night', and stop next to them. They will come over and talk to you. You can then drive off to a secluded spot, and ..uh... have them recover your hit points, in exchange for cash.
And yeah, I am thinking about buying it, but without a multiplayer option, I might not. I hear that the next GTA game is going to focus heavily on the multiplayer aspect, which should be great.

I had the exact same problem with my GeForce 2 MX and the patch fixed it as well.
Still a bit choppy to my liking. I'm have a GeForce 4 Ti in the mail just because of this game.

I can pretty much answer any questions anyone has about the actuall game play, because as I've said, I've been there, done that on the PS2. As far as the hookers goes, you all are ALMOST fully correct. You do have to have a decent car, it dosn't really matter too much, but the car can't be in the worst of conditions. You also have to honk your horn when the hooker walks up to you and starts chit-chatting. You also cannot be in a taxi cab, cop car, ambulance, ect.... You get the point. Also, unless they've changed it, if you have full 100 health, meeting a hooker will bump your health up to 125. Very helpful for some of those missions where you are JUST not able to survive. Good luck everyone, and enjoy one of the best games ever produced.
-
anyone have the link to the patch....just so it can stay in this thread.....

I'll tell you, I had a heck of a time, because Rockstar dosn't seem to have the patch on their site.
Also, for those inclined, here is a link for the cheats. Cheats Here

Anyone ever come across something in one of the alleys that once you picked it up it said "Rampage. Kill 30 Diablo gang members in 1 minute" or something like that and it gave you a M-16?
I did yesterday and before you know it I had 4 cop stars built up and I could not escape from them.... I took out 3 cops during the whole thing! LOL This game is so wrong on so many levels but it is cool too.
-
I found a flame thrower on top of the building down the L (go to the left) from Hepburn heights. Found me a nice car and went a squashed loads of people in front of the cop shop. Then, when the cops were getting interested, started using the flame thrower to full effect. I had 5 badges racked up before I got wasted!
Please note, I'm not normally a viscious person, I just wanted to see how many bad marks I could get before dying.
This game is excellent, I'm really enjoying it.
