Dose any body know why when i click on some web pages just as it starts to load the page it closes the broser?

Can you give us an example of a page address that does this?

Have you loaded XP SP1/IE6 SP1?

how about newegg.com it starts to load the page then closes the brouser

How big is your temporary internet folder limit? When was the last time you cleared the temp files (cache) ?

1gig today

And when was the last time you cleared cache?

SORRY how about 10meg's and today

And has it made a difference to the browswer closing problem?

Have You tried to run a Repair? If not go to Add/Remove Programs Then IE 6.0 then Repair. Try this!!!

no it didnt make any diff. and in the add/remove programs there is no place to remove IE6

Yes there is - under add/remove windows components.

Remove it and then use windows explorer to try and reach a page - such as newegg, does windows explorer close the same way?

ok there is but it says it will only remove the icon, and yes i can reach newegg.com and all others from windows explorer

OK, you can delete your own posts by clicking edit, checking the delete post box on the left and then click the delete button on the right.

have you tried running system file checker?

start, run, type in sfc /scannow

good idea tried sfc but didnot work!

Uninstall SP1 for IE6. Make an installation kit using IEAK6 and do a reinstall.

Used this last week after pulling my hair out for around 8 hours, http://www.theeldergeek.com/repair_ie6.htm. Give it a shot.
