More like mean and in need of adult supervision. boy, talk about something that will always be with them for the rest of their lives..:eek2:
That was about as bad as the hazing of the Marine Corps silent drill team back in the 90’s. That one ended up on 60 minutes or the like. The difference, in the Marines you learn how to accept sh!t that ain’t right. These girls were abused, and disrespected far beyond the capacity of the intended initiation. The perpetrators should be brought up on criminal assault charges. The whole thing is on video, not much more evidence is needed than that!
my high school has always been known for our wrestling program, tons and tons of state titles both individual and team. the hazing on the wrestling team was really really bad. about 6 guys decieded they were going to punish someone that missed a practice and stuck a mop handle 3 or 4 inches up his @ss :eek2: it was all over the news, it was even on Donahue. they guy sued the school district and won a 2 million $ settlement. 3 of the guys were suspended, the other 3 were either ex state champs or the fav to win a state champ and the other guys took the blame for them. it was a pretty ****ty deal. criminal charges were filed, they got off with community service hours.
Thats messed up...I don't see how people can be so cruel...a joke is one thing...but hurting people, now thats just messed up!
$2 million to take a mop handle up the poop shoot!?! Man, how come I never get that lucky!!! I would have done that for $1 million! :eek2:Quote:

I know some people that would do it for nothing....:p
I'm certainly not one of them. I am not sleazy, one million is my threshold! :thumbs2:Quote:

This is one of those situations where kids learn they're "above" their peers. The same mentality will continue through their lives... This is where you've got to look at the school and say 'hey, by not reprimanding these kids you're setting them up for a big fall and worse, doing it so that the school can put a few more trophys on a shelf.'Quote:

I think it's also a symptom of sexual abuse or latent homosexuality. Nobody wakes up one day and says 'i think i'll stick a broom up somebody's ***.'
..said it before I'll say it again, as the group gets bigger it gets dumber.
EDIT: I hope the guy running the broom at least had the courtesy to give the guy a reach around. (what the hell, here's my chance to get edited by NooNooi ;-)

not to be a stick in the mud. . . . but we're talking about a 15 year old kid who was basically violently raped with a foreign object. this kid will probably never be the same again, and this is something to make light of?
I saw something similar on "real sports" and saw a mother and father in tears because their son was at football camp and was sexually assaulted with a bannana. the kid who was a straight A student before the incident had now become a social outcast who had to endure people throwing bannana peels on the football field and look at signs that depicted bannanas. He was failing classes stealing and wrecking his dad's car, skipping school etc. I almost cried when his parents said (paraphrasing) "We spent 15 years raising a respectable young man, then we send him away for 3 days at an adult supervised camp and this is what we got back. all the years of hard work were erased in three days"
as a new Dad, I don't think these types of incidents of anything to joke about and woudn't want my son to have to go through anything like that no matter how much money could be won in a law suit.
okay - flame away.
Did they call him monkey boy, then did he start running around school on all fours flinging poo and screaming at people???? :flame:
I agree, $ or not...its not worth what happened to him emotionally....as I said before..its messed up. To joke around and have fun is one thing, but to violently hurt someone, its messed up.
Anyone that did that to my son...well..they may or may NOT live to regret it...but at some point..they would feel their own level of pain....
You make a valid point. I was speaking purely in jest. I don’t think something like that would scar me for life, but then I have been through enough in my life to learn how to cope with just about anything life throws at me. 5 years in the Corps will teach you to blow off some of the harshest things out there, and sometimes my callous approach to a situation is a little too rough for some. Sorry if I offended you or anyone out there at the expense of someone that probably can’t manage dealing with the ridicule, and publicity of such an incident, not to mention the mental and physical damage incurred from the incident. My heart does go out to him, and I would probably kill anyone responsible for this if it happened to my kids. No need for a courtroom, Judge—Jury—Executioner!!!Quote:

So would hog tieing someone, after you tackled them in front of a date, and stripped them. Then taken them way out in the woods all while yelling at them and shoving chicken feet in their mouth and nose. Then let them out surround them while pouring all sorts of foul things on them and other unmentionables. Then take them back to the dorm beconsidered hazing? What if you are an underclassman and they were an upperclassmen?
not that anything close to that ever happened officially:D :D :D
I think all of that hazing is bull$hit. In College there is no real need for that kind of acceptance just to be part of a "fraternity". The hazing I saw in the Marines was usually limited to the pinning on of stripes for rank, and the jump wings. I have seen some injuries from pinnings, but the way most of us saw it was that we were warriors, and a little pain goes a long way when you compare it to combat. But college, high school, it is all ridiculous.
But that is not to say it isn’t sometimes worth it at the time, looking back on it Cleetus, was it all worth it? I mean, squealing like a pig and all…
Mine was from the corp at a&m, we had a lot of stuff that could be considered hazing, luckily for the most part we still had some protection from being practically a military school(for those that were in the corps). Where I was never military, I did have the benefit of the largest public school with a military acadamy within its ranks. Most all my buddies from my outfit went on to become officers, like I mentioned previously my back kept me out.
Most hazing these days is gone or is extremely harmless, the problem is that people grow up hearing these stories, want to make 'em bigger, get drunk, lose all human reason then things get really nasty and out of control.
Small limited initiation "hazing" is just a part of growing up, but yes, when taken to the point that things are getting shoved up butts or people are seriously getting injured then it has turned for the worse and something needs to be done. We can't over protect our children or they will lash out, but we must do everything we can.
In my above case, if something did happen, well he knew all along as it was his job for some time to get all guidon candidates into trouble. I can't tell you how many thousands of pushups and situps we did because of him in a short period of time. We all went out and had a beer and laughed about it later, he knew exactly what he was getting into and trusted us not to hurt him. THese girls in this case had that trust violated as the incident involved 5 going to the hospital.
Ya_know, this totally clears up so much for me!!! Now I know why my wife calls me an insensitive @$$hole anytime I don't have the same reaction she does to a situation.Quote:

no offense taken now or then. . . . I knew you and everyone else was joking. it just seemed a little inappropriate, that's all. I have a lot of respect for you ya_know. you may be a little rough around the edges (I know that puts some people off) but I can tell you're an honest stand up guy, much respect my friend.Quote:

#1, taking work home with you. I don't mean doing paper work, or answering emails, I mean when someone chews your @ss, or you chew someone else’s, and you come home in a foul mood. You gotta put it behind you for the next day.
#2, not being sensitive enough. I can’t count the times…she can’t stand me sometimes, and I can’t understand that. But I know that I don’t think like a normal person would in many situations. She gets so disgusted with me sometimes, and I try to make her understand that it is just a learned lifestyle, and that I will try to do better. I think that I have. Compared to the way I was when I was in, I have made quite the transition! But…for her it still isn’t enough.
It is difficult to maintain a warrior mentality, dealing with the extreme disciplines of the Corps, then to come home and act like a normal daddy and loving husband, you have to learn how to turn off some switches. It makes it hard physiologically to manage two lifestyles, but you have to without turning off the wrong switches. That brings us to:
#3, being so withdrawn from your home live, that you drive her away. You can’t drive such a wedge between your two lifestyles that it turns you into a different person. You have to remain the same, deal with everything from both camps. Stay focused/interested in what she is involved in, as well as keeping up with the responsibilities of the job.
I was never married in the Marines, but I saw enough from my fellow Marines to learn that it wasn’t at all easy. I wish you all the best!
You two have got to be the only two marines I know who have the ability to have entire conversations with out dropping the f-bomb every other word, or is it because the forum doesn't allow it? Either way, it impresses me.
You're right. I used to cuss real bad,; everyone I worked with cussed bad. Even the WM's (Woman Marines) would shock the best of us. I guess it was part of the job...;)Quote:

I get the same thing from my Dad. He served two tours in Nam and never stopped saying **** all the time until my sister started using the word regularly. She was 20 something around then and had two kids. He's mellowed a lot since the arrival of grandkids :)Quote:

Now they are sueing for being suspended!! All these folkes that think they should be able to do what ever they want and not face any consequences should live on a nice island somewhere with others of their kind... ( you know like Ted Bundy and Charles Manson. )
Man now that is rich. Let me guess, it was their constitutional right to beat up these other girls!?!
I guess, though not much details....
here's the link
http://www.cnn.com/2003/LAW/05/16/sc...ing/index.html
And this quote if you dont want to read it:
"Officials at Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook this week suspended 32 students for their roles in the event and announced plans to expel them. Several students have filed lawsuits over the district's actions. "
Just further proof that all women should keep their fights confined to the ring with jello, mud, or oil!!!!!;)

I get so damn sick of hereing crap like this. TO damn many lawsuit happy jerks runnin around... These Girls need to be taught a serious lesson, better learned now early in life than later when the consequences are much greater. They should take their punisment and say "Thank You. Im an unruley ritch brat and deserve much worse than I am receiving." but NOOOoooooo!!! I swear the more stuff like this I read about people, the better I like my dog!
Ill probably get a lawsuit now from Peta now for causing emtotion stress on pet because I mentioned him in a negative flame against the attitudes of spoiled rotten brats who deserve to be locked up rather than given a slap on the wrist like their getting.
GRRRRR
I wonder if I could file a lawsuit against satan for bringing evil to teh world. I betcha I could.... betcha betcha betcha..
