Last I heard the poor kid had some seiruosly psychological problems stemming from all the attention his video garnered. Turns out some of his "friends" are the ones who put it on the net to make fun of him and it ended up making him an outcast at his school. His parents were sueing the kids parents for defamation of character. I do feel sorry for the poor kid, i'm sure $4000 won't be enough to buy back his self esteem (which I'm sure was already pretty low before this whole fiasco).
That being said, I think I just pissed myself from laughing so hard.

Didn’t his parents ever teach him that the cool kids at school are not really cool, just more confident? How about building on his character, and let him grow up all by himself? Sure this is an emotional obstacle, but let’s face it, a law suit isn’t the way to fix things.
I think they should teach the kid stick fighting, then send him out bad a$$, and kick the snot out of those so-called friends all by himself. That will build his confidence right back to the top!

So he's a bit geeky, it's not like he's all alone in that bowl of soup.
