wonder if inferno is in the cattle business?https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif
Why would Inferno care about this again?
Hi there,
I just knew the US will blame Canada. *lol* I'm not surprise at all. If you can't blame yourself, blame someone else. It's so much easier to do that then actually make a change to prevent this crap from happening.

All "other" facts aside, your stance made it look like you were happy about the predicament the US finds themselves in.
And, REAL important here, is the fact that noone is BLAMING anyone!!!!
We are in this together, and we need to find a solution!!!
Look what happened in the UK!!!!
Who can be happy about what happened there????
Of course: NOONE!!!
And NOONE should be happy if it happens here in North America!!!!
Hi there,
Yeah, working together would be great, if that is all possible. However, Canada and the US process cows differently. I'm not sure the feeds problem is the same (putting unwated animals parts, such as sheep, chicken and even cows in it for protein), but also US cows use anti-biotics (over used makes super bugs) and also hormones enhancers (make the cow produce more milk or grow faster, might have a negative effect).
The warning already have been file out by scientists (especially the feed problem here in Canada), looks like no one is paying attention. The feed miht be the main cause of the problem, but it's still using this pratice. I know what happen in the UK, but I think not many is learning anything from it.
There is solutions and preventions already, but not many farmers want to take it because of the cost will go up (and beef price will go up, etc etc).
Ju Leon...
The truth is that since the middle 90's, cattle have NOT been feeding on animal by-products.Quote:

And this is from the FDA:
Quote:
FDA’s “animal feed” rule, in place since 1997, is designed to prevent the spread of BSE further throughout cattle herds. This regulation prohibits the feeding of most mammalian protein to ruminant animals such as cows, sheep and goats - the route of disease transmission that led to the epidemic of BSE in the United Kingdom, beginning in the 1980’s.
Hi there,
I think it's not done in Canada.

Proud Gollo????

Inferno made Inferno the butt of negative thought.
Gollo has merely pointed out that once again inferno's naivety is his undoing.
Since when is Gollo a leader in WD?
Yeah I did.Quote:

Well, that is someone who is a selfserving idiot who looks for favor from those with power!!
Something I have never been!!!! (look it up yourself jaeger)
Yeah, you are right concerrning inferno.
He indeed sets himself up with idiotic sentiments.
Butt, somehow, Gollo sees himself as the rep of those who presume to be soooo pure....
The old guard!!!
The definition of a sycophant!!
Question them, and you're in trouble!
Question them, and you don't fit in.
Question them, and your motivation is questioned.
Question them, and, all of a sudden, your post count, or your join date, is ALL that matters!!!
Question them, and you may as well invite a banning!!!!????
WHY?????
Well of course this forum is NOT a democracy, as you ALL (in power now) like to point out...and there is NO free speech.
BUTT!!!!there really is!!!
AND, as always, the powers that be, may just happen to see the light.
MAY is the operative question here!
May just see the light!!!
Yeah, someone said recently that YOU should be impartial!
Soo...have you lost that ability????
Just to name a few things not done in Canada:Quote:

I'm sure I could go on.
Trip, I really think you need to find somewhere else to hang out online. From what I see, YOU are the one with the problem.
No, I'm not a friend of Gollo. Never talked to him outside the forums, don't know him from Adam.
But seeing this and your explosion over the chatroom earlier, it's clear you take this internet stuff way too seriously. Just step away from the keyboard, take a deep breath, and relax.
Thanks, I will do that now!!!Quote:

I think blaming Canada is a little too quick of a repond, as this article says. It's a little too suspicious and the cow was imported to the US over 2 years ago!
I don't think it can be proven that it got Mad Cow before or after.
Ju Leon...
I am back now

Ju, it doesn't really matter where the mad cow originated from.
Unfortunately its something that doesn't happen often but it does happen and seeing as it takes so long to develop it is virtually impossible to stop as it happens. It could have been any country, hell England copped it a few years ago. It doesn't mean anyone is unclean or otherwise, it just means tha a cow got a virus or disease.
It happens in humans, what country do we blame for aids...lets see now..its not important **** happens. Sars is another great example, who can we blame there.
All this Canada versus UsA stuff is not important either. Hell theres good and bad in every race and from this standpoint I respect both USA and Canada equally. I laugh at a good knock Canadian joke just as much as i might laugh at a US originated one.
Its not serious I'd much rather be a Canadian or an American than some nationalities on this planet. Like who the hell would want to be an eskimo...no mad cows but a litle sunshine would be nice. And then you could be a zulu....hell.... then a litle snow would be nice.....
Who the hell really cares where it came from...basically the sad bit is the containment of the spread, and the stock crash of the poor companies involved unwittingly.....http://student.biology.arizona.edu/h...staringcow.gif
Hi there,
Then, why the US blame Canada? It's like the lastest trends. If you can't blame yourself, blame others. I wonder what they have conjuged up to make that announcement.
Ju Leon...
Hi there,
Damn Canadians. Now they've gone and ruined everything.
*lol*
<<Kuukkoo kuukkoo>>
Hi there,
I was about to go get something at Wendy's too. I guess not now. *giggle*
The U.S. sucks. Everything they do is stupid even if it's Canada's own fault. Allow me to offer the unpopular rational reply in favor of my home.
!!! DING !!!
Webby...
Hi there,
Wrbby here. *NO*
<<giggle>> Hehe,.. yeah

Oh yeah lets worry about the money again ! ... I care that greedy farming practices are ruining the planet along with all the other greedy folks destroying it their own particular ways, its about time mankind got a grip on the notion that as the most 'intelligent' form of life on the planet (though there's room for debate on that !) WE are responsible for what goes on ...Quote:

Now just where am I placing my sympathy, because at the moment I'm having trouble working out just where it ought to go :p
I don't much get a chance to hang around here anymore. But, after reading this thread, and particularly these comments, I had to speak up.Quote:

Second, as far as the "quick respond" of the US to this issue...I notice from your original thread that no grass grew under your feet in breaking the news and your emotions about it. And, as our UK members can attest, with a disease this serious in nature, you can be damn sure everyone involved wants a quick response!
Thirdly, it's easy, after wild comments are made, and if you don't have the knowledge or facts, to back up to a "conspiracy" ploy. [For you philosophers out there...it tries to make the opposition "prove the negative."] The fact is that the incubation period of this disease can be 4-5 years.

The antibiotics may be causing a long-term problem, however their use has been proven effective in protecting the cows, and the consumers. Until Mad Cow showed up, it was rare to find bad beef, unless it was a packaging or distribution issue, or contamination thereafter the slaughter. Sure, the long-term effect right now is a bad one, but protections are in place, all in an effort to prevent a serious outbreak. I am confident that the appropriate people, and not the blowhards of WinDrivers, will handle things.
I am not scared at all, had several burgers, pizza with meat, and a steak over the holidays.
Wow, a long one with no italicizing or font changes!Quote:
