So same 'criticism' as levelled at the 'which motherboard is best' thread .. ;) - What's this in 'terms of ' ? Value, Clarity & features, Reliability, yada yada ?
(sadly you can't edit your own polls btw ! , but you can edit your top post to make matters clearer & effectively add to the poll)
So btw its multi-choice is this poll as I just discovered after I voted  ..confus-ed again ! :D - SO I wanted to vote LG for 'value', sony for 'picture' & Illayma for 'lastability' ..
LG and Samsung have excellent quality too, i suppose comparable to Sony. Isnt it IIyama?
Velly ploballee, butt I ave enough tlouble wiff macking sense sum dazes, nver mund speiling mistooks :DQuote:

This figuring out who really makes what buisness is hard sometimes because they can buy stuff from one guy & put them in a case, stick a different label on a mouse etc though my medion mouse shows as samsung & the last other thing I can remember medion was someones pc, with samsung stuff mostly.
Alidi buy lots of strange stuff bulk & surplus then 'pile it high & sell it cheap', maybe they just like samstung stuff & medion put 'whatever' together for 'em? Badging up monitors & cases isn't very hard is it ?
Hav'nt voted yet , trying to see if KDS is related to any of those in poll ,
anyways mine is KDS Xflat 17" and have been happy with it .
Would like to get a 19" Flat Panel someday when prices come down to my
range (cheap) .
I have a 19" AOC GLRS. Not the best monitor under the sun but its worked great for roughly 3 years now. I plan on using it until it more or less blows up or I can get a Nice 19" LCD @ a descent price.
I have a nice 17" Dell and a 17" Gateway, I always seem to be in charge of inventory where ever I work
I have a 17" Sony CPD-200ES that I absolutely love... until I get my new 21" LCD. :D
Dell and Gateway? Aren't they rebadged, as well?Quote:

The way I see this one is sort of like Televisions. In the same size range you can see a big difference in price, quality and warranty. So, with TV's, I'll pay the extra bucks and someone always seems to notice how good the picture is.
PS
Even amongst the various manufacturer's, don't many use Sony and Mitsubishi "tubes"?
I have an LG 795 plus Flatron monitor (17 inch). It's about 4 years old right now and it still goes like a champ. very crisp and clear. When i worked at one tech shop, they sold LG almost exclusively (you could order in a brand name). Over a 3 year period, 1500+ monitors where sold, only 3 defective monitors where returned in that period of time.
That says something IMHO
I have had a beautiful 17" Daewoo for about 7 years now. Their top of the line model at that time. Very crisp.
on a crt monitor id only get one with a sony tube or a sony only monitor, as for LCD Flat Panels, Id only go Samsung (makes the best lcd screens)
I have a BenQ 17' LCD at home I love it NO motion blur that I had seen in other models....

At work I have my favorite CRT Samsung 955DF... Great screens cheap price....

I personally hate the Sony's because of the two black lines that run across the screen at 1/3 and 2/3 the screen ... They drive me nuts !!!
I'll never buy a sony, i can't stand the tension line shadows. they just annoy me to no end.Quote:

At home I have an NEC Diamondtron 19' monitor. It's aperture grille (no dot pitch) so I have 2 lines to look at once in a while but it's the best picture I've ever seen on a monitor and color reproduction is amazing.

My LG uses a shadow mask wich gives an image that is just as good, but without those annoying lines... I'll stay away from Sony. However, this is a personal choice.. Quality wise, Sony are also fairly good.Quote:

After a few hours you don't see em. I use 2 x 17" Dell-badged Sony Trinitrons on my main desktop, and I love em.Quote:

I have an 17" (struck by lightning) LG on my fiancee' comp and a 17" Viewsonic on my roomates comp... a 17" ancient Samsung monitor back in the day 17" were just coming out and really only available for large companies, not working to well anymore but it suffices for my purposes for the machine, and a 15" inch no name for my home work bench... it was funny tho I was out in my backyard last night cutting down the trees that are my grass (literally came to just above my waist) and I looked at the electric meters for both myself and the neighbours, they had just installed both of the meters when I moved in. Mine was 3100 and my neighbours were running in the 4400+ range... all my computers (7 of them) run 24/7 almost with monitors being turned off for extended absenses only (longer than 24 hours)... I'm an electrical HOG but I pay for it with my $200-$350 bills... but WTF are my neighbours doing? I'm dying to know as they've had it cut off numerous times...
man I'm really telling to many stories on way to many tangents tonight...
Indeed, that does say something. So, from now on, I can "trust" LG monitors. I always wondered about LG products: you just never know. So, thanks for that info.https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gifQuote:
