Ok, I asked a simple ? and its turned into another WD mellodrama.....
My question is this...
Is this how everyone treats others IRL? Is your real lives nothing but mellodrama such as this, or is it just easier to do so here cuz your able to hide behind text and its not face to face?
Just curious.....
I think we all experience drama from time to time. Whether IRL or wherever. It's all part of life.

I've often found, at least in some instances, that the way you see people act in Forums, is how they WANT to act IRL. Most times people are way nicer IRL than the persona you see here.
Usually, the more outrageous the posting personality, the more subdued they are IRL.
There seems to be a small number of people (I being one of them) who are basically what you see online.
When I post, you're pretty much getting the real me. My opinions, or how loudly I say them, are, for the most part, the same as I am IRL. The only difference is, that I'm more able to express myself via e-mail, or posting, than I am verbally.
ima gonna vote for the whole text vs. face to face3 thing. I ignore drama in my other life. some thigns are just not important. doin so here, is more for fun and entertainment and a way of venting about unrelated issues as well. are you still mad at me?

I think that the drama has to play out here from time to time. We are able to get away with more here than in real life, so it can sometimes go too far.

What you see here is what you see IRL. I admit I am a bit shy when I first meet someone,.. but once I feel comfortable around them,.. then this is what comes out. Sad but true. :sad:
I treat this place like the pub, like I'm with a group of friends and reply as I would if it were face to face with a beer or two. Sometimes it means an honest opinion, sometimes it's a wind up, sometimes it's what we would call talking b****cks for the hell of it. However, I find it much easier to express myself in the real world than with a keyboard.
As in real life you can get comfortable with some people and not be afraid to say what you really think. I've had "discussions" with friends that have had people looking at us as if we're about to start fighting, because we know each other so well that we know how far to push without causing insult. The difference here is that when that happens there's always another post to throw things into chaos, and it's quite fun to watch it unfold sometimes. I think a lot of arguments are quite meaningless to the actual people arguing but look much worse to someone reading the thread but not actively taking part.
The problems begin when people cannot seperate virtual and real life.

It's nice to see that some things never change. We're all human and there are points where personalities conflict (I think Ya-know personifies that :). I think it would be a safe bet that everyone here has been angry with their best friend at least once. Anywhere humans interact you will get "drama" like this. I don't know what happened, and frankly I don't care, but I do want to add my half cent. I think a lot of people here take this place too seriously and spend all too much time here. I have a pretty busy life and I just can't comprehend how a lot of people have the time to be "post padding" especially during work hours. No matter where you go you will face conflict, and I for one believe conflict is the best way to grow. Maybe whatever happened has shown Adept a better way to waste his time then try to argue meaningless points with the likes of you all, or maybe he's just tired and will return when he's ready, maybe he's already lurking with a different identity, who knows. The point is everywhere you go, you'll find the Ya_knows of this world spouting "well lemme tell you what I think" and the cleetus' spewing their own funk, with the grovers always saying they don't care yet they still hang around watching, and the adepts being seemingly ever patient, even an odd TripleR with their interesting yet annoying observations, with a few sunshines , putergirls and maybe a webby or gazzak along the way to add a bit of this and that. It's a part of being here, alive on this world spinning in the darkness. So get used to the feeling because it happens a lot in life, that is, if you have one away from here. Just my half cent worth, anyone got change? :)
