Well I guess you'd start by respecting the opinion of others, you'd then (if you disagreed) retort with an intelligent, factual based response pertaining to the matter at hand instead of resorting to name calling and sarcastic comments.

I guess acting like an adult would also mean being responsible for your own actions and realising when you've made a mistake and apologising for it.

Or you could just say my Dad is bigger than your Dad?

Complain that the majority of people do not spend all of their time doing what you think this site was made for? (even though this group includes you)

Complain that a certain topic should have it's own area because you do not want to hear about it, and then post in that seperate area as much as anyone that is directly effect by that topic?

My actual opinion is that to act like an adult means to take responsibility for your actions, pay your bills on time, treat others with respect and dignity, treat others the way you want to be treated, and do the next right thing as often as possible.

I fall far short of this mark quite often, unfortunately, but I keep trying. Which is the other adult thing for me these days, which is to just keep trying, no matter what the adversity may be, or what it may appear to be, since I have learned that things are not always what they appear to be.

I believe a person is an adult when they have grown their wings and flown away from the nest. As far as "acting" like and adult,.. I prefer to not "act" at all and just be myself. :cool:

I think the main thing that causes drama around is definition. Some try to define what we are supposed to talk about and how we are supposed to act. I think that is wrong for the lounge. I think we all need to chill out and let it flow. It will all work out. :thumbs:

See, even you still insult rather then try to come up with some all purpose or even just a generic term that somehow complies with others views on what acting like an adult is. You have all very much proved my point that while one might say "act like an adult" nobody can really come up with a consensus on what that actually means, esp here on the not so adult board
