You heard it here first:
The Patriots win streak continues with a narrow win over Pittsburgh this Sunday. I've got nothing but confidence in the Steelers offense lead by Big Ben, but the D is missing Casey Hampton & Chad Scott, and that's not good. Brady will pick them apart, especially with 50 year old Willie Williams trying to play corner.
Even though I don't expect a win, I still think this will be an awesome game. The Steelers won't just lay down and die, I guarantee that.

Nah, it's in the Burgh. Don't get me wrong, it certainly could happen, after seeing the Bengals shellack the Broncnos and the Dolphins spank the Rams this weekend. But I just don't feel like this is a game the Steelers will win. I knew they'd beat the Bengals, the Browns & the Cowboys. Never questioned it. I just don't have that sure feeling here, and I think losing 2 starters on defense without the depth to cover it will make things easy for the Pats.Quote:

It's a 4 o'clock game, and since it's the Pats it's going to be nationally televised, except on the West Coast since the Raiders are Playing the chargers. I'm really not sure - don't have to worry about with NFL Sunday Ticket. :)
Oh yea of little faith. Two and a half weeks from today there will be no more undefeated teams in the NFL and the old Dolphin's team will be sending cigars to the Steeler locker room to thank them.

The Pats are the best team in NFL, but they have lived a charmed life this season. After 2 close wins vs. a very mediocre Seahawks team (man has their star fallen lately) and a tougher than expected Jets squad I feel the time is ripe for an oops. I don't think the hampton loss will hurt nearly as much as the scott loss (I can't believe I actually typed that.)
but really, there is some decent depth on the dline. hoke was a monster in the preseason, and clancy was going to be good as well before he tore his calf. and if one of them can't fill the job, you can always move kimo over to nose tackle (where he has played before) and insert kirschke or keisel at End. I think that the steelers are more prepared for the loss of hampton.
as bad as scott has been the last few years, the thought of willie williams or Coughlough in man on man coverage is scary to me. thankfully both deon branch and troy brown may miss the game, so there won't be as many weapons out there for them.
I think it'll be a good game, and I hope it's close. The first drives for both teams are going to be very telling. The patriots will initially try to pound dillon (I think) and if they can, it'll be a long day becasue hope and polamalu will have to cheat the run and leave townsend and williams / coughlough exposed 1 on 1, and that's scary stuff.
I think the O will do fine. Ty law will match up 1 on 1 with ward, and I think that's a good matchup for the steelers. they'll probably roll a safety to plax's side and double him, but if duce and the line can get the running game going, they won't be able to tee off on ben with blitzes and won't be able to double plax.
the X factor is of course coaching, and belichek (sp) has had it all over cowher in the past. for some reason, I think that changes this week. I like what cowher has done this year. I think he started to see his flaws and has tried to correct them. I think he lebeau and wisenhunt get the best of the patriots staff on sunday.
Yeah, but the thing is, Hampton was capable of single handedly moving the pocket by himself. He would draw two or three men to stop him, which opened the blitz, which helped to cover the green players in our secondary. Chad Scott doesn't really suck, he's just not as good as he thinks he is (or his salary implies). But I think the combination of him & Hampton being out is bad news. I think Coclough will indeed be a great CB in a year or two, maybe the best we've had since Rod Woodson, but he's just too inexperienced to play every down right now. I'd take Ike Taylor over either of them at this point in man coverage, but Ike seems lost when he's trying to play zone.Quote:

Yeah, I've got no problems seeing Bell walk. He had an amazing rookie season, but he's injury prone. And they tried to work out a deal with him in the off-season, but he wants money like what Philly gave Jevon Kearse.
