Yeah I can't wait. :D
I can't wait, I'm buying a Sirius.........I listened every day in college, now where I live there is no stations close enough that broadcast the show, so I'm stuck with just the E! show. :sad:Quote:

Well, you can get that on regular satellite channels, without having to pay extra for it. That's why I couldn't see paying an extra $3/month or whatever for Opie and Anthony (plus, I don't find them funny what-so-ever).
I'm not bashing your decision, not at all. I'm sure many of his hardcore fans will be doing the same thing. I just wanted to throw out my opinion on the subject.
Also, I looked into Sirius before I went with XM. They didn't offer anything more than XM, and it cost more. Starting next season, XM will have baseball as well, which will be great.
Again, not bashing, just throwing in my .02 cents.
Enjoy Letterman tonight. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif
Actually, I agree with you. I think he will lose a lot his "shock content" by going up public radio. But, I am one of his "hardcore fans" so to speak, so I have no problems paying for Sirius so I can hear him. I have been looking for years for a pay service via the net to get the Stern show, and have downloaded many shows bootlegged.Quote:

Ok, I'm sorry, but I think that Stern is a jerk, but Letterman Rocks!
I agree with what 3FS said above. And in reply to this post,.. I think Stern going to satellite will be a further test of his creative ability. Stern pioneered the whole "shock jock" thing. Most of these other whacky morning guys are just Stern impersonators. They are a dime a dozen, but none of them compare to the real thing. Personally, I am a diehard Stern fan because he tells it like it is. I've been listening to him since around 1990-92ish. He is highly intelligent, funny and very creative. It'll be great to see how he does on satellite. If he fails he fails,.. but I will support him all the way. Without him, radio would be much different today. I have never listened to any satellite content so I couldn't comment on how he would compare to what is on there already, but I can tell you that he will be a great and welcome addition to the satellite radio community.Quote:

I think he will do well on Sirrius, he has a wide fan base, and now any Stern fan can get his show. Before this, you had to live in an area with a large market.Quote:

XM is with Clear Channel, I hate Clear Channel
It doesn't matter how well Howard does on XM. The publicity they got for signing him will pay his salary.
After all how many people knew about XM before Howard and how many now?
Actually, Howard signed with Sirius, not XM.
Man,.. Howard did great on Letterman. He wasn't as aggressive as I thought he would be, but he got his point made. As soon as he gives the word, I'm getting a Sirius radio.
I fell asleep. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif oh well.Quote:

Just curious.
As far as I know, Howard is going to be part of the basic subscription fee. He also mentioned that he has 3 different shows he is working on for Sirius.Quote:

The costs right now are just too much to justify it (like $300 to convert car and have the thing portable, right?).
Well,.. it's still relatively new stuff. It's pricey because we are paying for the R&D right now. It's kinda like how that new CPU that comes out and it's $500, then 2 weeks later it's $150 because ANOTHER new one comes out. Give it a few years and it will settle down. I'll let everyone else go out and do it up for 2005. I'll be there in 2006 once the price settles down a bit more. Thanks goodness for XM (competition to keep prices in-line).Quote:

That's alright though...when up at work I can listen to a real kick arse Russian folk station out of Siberia. I don't have a clue to what they are saying but I do know that the word vodka is used quite often!https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif
Really? How come not? It's satellite man. It should be available anywhere on the planet. I will research this for you.Quote:

But, any additional radio you bring online, like for your house or second vehicle, is $6.99 / month. That's a pi$$ah. They are coming out with a portable one for XM, that also has 5 hours of record time.
I paid for 2 years up front for somewhere around $250, for the service. I think monthly is $10.
Not sure of the prices for Sirius, but I do remember them being higher per month.
Ah it ain't no big deal. We are used to being the bastage stepchild. Up here where I work the only type of "cell" phone that work are the Iridium Satellite phones and that brings a whole different category of phone plans that rate right up there with a moderate monthly car payment (if you want something past the real basic type plans)...https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gifQuote:

Now I'd like to see that commercial :grin:Quote:

Up at work there is nothing, but down in Anchorage we have full coverage through Cellular One (Cell 1) including metro Seattle as our home area. AT&T Wireless was up here but they sold out to Dobson Communications (Cell 1) about a year ago. We also have GCI and ACS. Actually ACS has some of the best packages up here now, but Cell 1 has suited our needs very well.
Ah yes,.. good ol reliable cellular one and their analog service. Can't get all the fancy shmancy digital internet services, but you can count on them to make a 911 call that's for sure. We had them in our Santa Cruz market up until about a year ago but AT&T Wireless managed to roll out the GSM service over there and bought out all the dobson towers. Not sure what GCI or ACS are. I'm assuming they are roaming partners for the analog service. It must be tough to maintain cell towers out there I guess because it doesn't seem like they are expanding much out there.Quote:
