What Do you think of Tigerdirect.com?
I see you managed your first poll Rogue. Good for you. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif
Now, ask NooNoo to delete the "other" attempt, and all will be good.https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2005/03/1.gif
btw:
sometimes poll's should be public, like this one, so, if you look at the whole window while composing the poll, you'll see that that is one of the choices you can make.
Also: what do you think? Why did you ask? Do you get all your "kit" there? Like there catalogs? What?
Why deal with a scamming group of asshats when Newegg.com exists?
I usually love the way you get right down to the nitty-gritty. https://forums.windrivers.com/images.../2006/04/1.gif
btw:
Check the thread out in Comments and Suggestions, and you'll know what I am talking about.
Once again, I haven't the foggiest as to what you are on about. Links tend to make things more specific.Quote:

hmmmmmmmmmm.............me thinks RRR has been dipping in the eggnogg a bits early!!
Anyways, not all polls need to be public, so make em how you like Rogue.
I have never had a problem with Tiger Direct..usually I am ordering from them once or twice a month, and usually for items like refurb IBM laptops, etc. They ship quickly, the merchandise is what is listed, and the price is ok for my customers. I have never paid any attention to rebates, because it seems that you only get them about 50% of the time anyway..
patronising and condescending and arrogant.Quote:

Thanks, NooNoo.
Give him a couple drinks, and he turns into the undisputed ruler of Windrivers, I guess.
To be fair, however, I believe he means well.
I'm sure if you mix and match languages, each of those can start with an R.Quote:

I'll tel ya something. I am getting real tired around here. No wonder so many good people have left here and never come back. And then you ban the ones that really do care and stick around come hell or high water. I guess that I'll never get it...

my best guess would e that the flame wars that went on for a while went too far, and too many people were getting upset with the way things were going. So the mods have cracked down, and mow people are complaining that thing's are too strict. They've been put in a herd place because people aren't willing to find the happy medium on their own without relying on the mod's to solve the problem.Quote:

/me Watches yet another decent thread take a tun for the worse.
Yeah, cause I don't even order stuff online, I go to Fry'sQuote:

I really don't care for tiger direct. I have always been suspicious of them. I can't stand visiting their store but somehow I always end up there when visiting friends in the big city. i just use newegg.com and zipzoomfly.com to buy my stuff online and never really have a need to go to a store an buy computer hardware because I am never in a predicament where I need something that minute.
Eggsactly! Me too.Quote:

If the local stores don't have it for a comparable price (including shipping), then I go for TD.
OK, my turn. I had some troubble with them involving a video card ( they advertised it as an 8X with a composit out, VGA and S-Video out. It was a 4X without a composit out and 64MB. I wound up with an ATI Radion 9200se with a composit, s-video, and VGA and 128MB, but it still took 2 weeks to figure it out)
Their customer service is just plain bad, but mostof the time their OK.
I kind of like them.
Thanks to everyone who helped make my first poll a success :)
I will never buy from them again.
Bought retail name brand ram and got generic in plastic baggies. It was the name brand but oem and it was all bad at that. Returned all of the sticks and repeated contact with Tiger to see the status of my credit went nowhere.
I was out over $200.
No satisfaction at all.
I used to not like Tiger after some bad experiences with them a few years ago and from other horror stories I had heard.
However, our church was looking for a new projector a couple of weeks ago. I found the one we wanted to get and Tiger had the lowest price of all of the online stores I was looking at. I was kind of nervous about choosing them, but I decided to go ahead and buy from them.
I called to order it instead of placing the order online because I was curious as to when it would actually be shipped from their warehouse because we were really wanting to have the projector by the end of the week (this was a Tuesday). I called and talked to a really helpful person on the phone. He said that they could ship it out the same day. I was a little skeptical, but went ahead with the purchase.
Well, that afternoon around 3 o'clock, I got an e-mail from Tiger with the tracking number saying that my order had been shipped and it was delivered Thursday afternoon.
I'm still somewhat skeptical of them, but not as much as I was.
Sorry for the long post.
Nothing to be sorry 'bout flyboy. Good heads up. Maybe they are changing for the better. Stranger things have happened in the tech world.Quote:

WOW! Who dragged up this old thread with a vote? Well as long as its here, here's my thought. I have never purchased from TigerDirect and probably never will. I have heard so much bad from them on so many occasions that they seem too high a risk too me. When not purchasing stuff locally, I almost always go with newegg. I have always been completely happy with them.
hmm my first thread...thats from a long time ago...
i just use newegg for everything, got a box from them today!
Well, as long as we are dredging up old threads (and re-opening old wounds), Tiger Direct isn't a company I'd do business with. I have seen them mis-represent merchandise, and ship obvious refurbs without identifying them as such. In the U.S., at least, refurbs cannot legally be sold as "new" equipment. I have one client who purchased a system from TD which never arrived, and TD never replaced it or refunded the buyer's money. Fortunately, it was a credit card transaction and he disputed the charge. Tiger could produce neither a tracking number nor a signature for the "delivered" computer.
For online vendors, I don't think you can beat Newegg, but Amazon has some good deals on certain items. Fry's is competitive on price, but they have so many brick and mortar stores that most customers are going to pay sales tax, and their shipping charges are too high. Some of the old guard e-tailers like Insight are so disconnected from reality as to be a joke. Only useful for fairly obscure items.
with only a 5 out of 10 rating at Reseller Ratings i wouldnt trust em.
