Everybody was expecting it to be bad. I mean, hell, they casted the fecking Rock. Suckage incarnate, but at least it'd be a Doom movie. But wait, they weren't done dashing all possible hope in the movie.
It won't take place on Mars.
The monsters won't be demons from hell, but virus-mutated blahblahblah.

Yeah, wider appeal and all that crap. Virus-mutated monsters ripping people apart is apparently better than demons from hell ripping people apart. I've seen a lot worse than anything in Doom in various classic horror movies, I have no idea what the hell is up with these retards. Personally, for me, it looks more like trying to get more ticket sales from a wider audience (consider the success of any other zombie/mutant flick) and maybe correcting the error that demons can be blown away using a BFG. :p

they should stick with the story even if its not on mars they can still come up with a good story with humans inventing a portal and opening a gateway to hell. i dont think the story behind the game is all that dumb. portals worked for stargate i think it will work for doom.
