I search the driver for WN4201B PCI card accton (wireless wifi card)
Thank you
Welcome to Windrivers Dreyfus
I think you have a compaq computer - please tell us the exact model number... the wireless card came with the computer.
I have a HP pavilion t880.fr computer. I need the original driver because i want install this pci wifi card on another computer with windows 98se OS.
I have fund a driver with 3 files (prism00.sys, wn4201b.cat et wn4201b.inf) but the installation his no good.
Do you know wehere i can find the original driver ?
Do you know how install only with the 3 files ?
Thank you
This card was made specifically for the machine it was put in - including the drivers. There is no original drivers because the people who make the card only make it for computer manufacturers who will write their own drivers.
here is the original driver
As to the install files above - it's easy to install - update the driver through the control panel >> system for the network card (probably listed as unknown). Click have disk and browse to those files. If they are valid, 98 will display the hardware and can install from there.
I will try
Thank you very much
Hi guys, I have an Accton WN4201B Wireless PCI Card. It used to work fine but have now made the mistake of installing Vista Home Premium! Does anybody know where i can find a driver or how to get the WINXP driver to work? Help please, my desktop is upstairs and my router downstairs so this was the only way i could connect!!
Welcome to Windrivers skydoc
What make and model is your computer?
Did you run the compatibility test before installing vista?
Hi guys, very late in on this thread.lol. I just wanted to say thanks to NooNoo, your a legend mate.
I searched for ages looking for the driver for a HP m1177a media centre pc and the driver you linked above was perfect for it,
Cheers NooNoo
P.S. Hp didnt have a driver listed for it under this model number. (m1177a)
Welcome to Windrivers AusPCS. Sorry I haven't replied earlier... and thanks for the compliment! HP are not known for their complete driver service, if you have another query, please post again.
Qussay: post #4 above has the diver link for that IF you have that same make of computer (model may not be too important since it is a rare driver).
If you want more help, identify your hardware.
Post No. 4 didn't serve me at all because I don't have the original CD recovery discs, and all I want is the software driver or any equavalant to run the wireless modem PC card model WN4201B Accton on my PC.
Regards
That is what that post links to.
'Complete collection of original network adapter device drivers'
Qussay what is the make and model of your computer?
I have a HP d4070.se with this card. Also need driver. Need it for my ubuntu mashine but a win driver is fine. I will try to use ndiswrapper.
(the bolded text is what I'm responding to)
Nah, the Windows driver won't work for your Ubuntu machine. Trust me.
You'll need a generic wifi card driver designed for Linux to make it work for Ubuntu, because Linux drivers and Windows drivers are not the same, and don't work in the same manner.
Thanks for pointing that out. But I was planing to try it with ndiswrapper.
NDISwrapper is a free software driver wrapper that enables the use of Windows XP drivers for network devices (cards, USB modems, and routers), on Unix-like operating systems

So Im looking for the windows driver. :-)

The site for that comp -
And the card is the WN4201B PCI card by Accton ?
Tried here; http://members.driverguide.com/drive...0&action=winfo
Accton's website still exists and although they don't list that adapter, they say to contact them if it isn't listed.
You never know - http://www.accton.com/index.htm
Hi
I have tried to install this driver via the HP website, but despite being logged on as an administrator, I get the message "you have to be logged on as an administrator" and the driver installation aborts.
Can anyone help?
springbokrugby, the driver in question is NOT at the HP site (edit: at least not for the subject mobo).
Nevertheless, with that message, try this: download and save the installer and right click on it and set it to run as Administrator.
I have tried this, but get the same message.
Then your Administrator Priviledges have been compromised.
I would suggest a rigorous malware hunt (anti-virus, anti-malware).
Before starting that, copy off anything you value to external media (drive, cd/dvd. flash).
Hello there,
I'm hoping someone can help me, because I've been searching now almost a week :(
I have an HP Pavillion type: W5080.be, I'm running windows XP and since I reinstalled it, I can't get the wireless to work anymore :(
Can't seem the find the driver ( WN4201B ) anywhere... it annoyes me I can't find it on the HP site :s
Any help would be much appreciated ;) :-)
 bye for now
Benji85 ; You could try this one; http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...nvOID=228#1770
omg
thanks SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!! that did the trick :) :D :D
I realise the last post on this thread was in the mists of time but still the subject is exactly right so I guess here is where to post.
I have an HP Pavillion m1180 with the WN4201B wireless PCI card. I am looking at upgrading to Windows 7 from XP. The upgrade advisory suggests I get an upgraded driver for this. I am not having much luck finding one that specifies it is suitable for Windows7. Am I going to need to replace the hardware with something more up to date or can someone help?
Welcome to Windrivers Blaise1976
this is probably your specification
If you are putting Win 7 on it, you need to upgrade the RAM to at least 2GB - this board will take 4GB. Get good memory - HPs don't tend to like cheap stuff.
As for your wireless card, there is a good possibility that it will be found at Windows update if not you can try the 2nd post here
Alternatively just grab a usb wifi dongle for a few bucks and disable the one in the machine.
Let me know how you get on.
Thanks, and doubly for the speed of reply.
I plan to have 4GB in the PC as have already upgraded the RAM. Unless of course I over heat the thing ;)
Thanks on the driver. I am running it on wired at the moment anyway (too far from my router) so I have more than one reason to go for a replacement if I need wireless.
Anytime, hope it goes well.
can any one post link for driver i need to download it.

note this is a fresh installation of a 32bit windows 7
i have done plenty of pc' s like this, but this is the first time i come across this error.

Welcome to Windrivers Puffman - what chip is on there, a realtek or an RALink?
Cnet has 8 suggestions for Vista drivers which should work under Windows 7
g'evening..
well i solved the problem by now..
what did i do? i updated the entire windows.. all 115 updates...
rebooted the rig, and it was installed. but not under the accton name.
computer in question is an HP Pavillion 5080.be, p4 HT 3.2 w/ 2gb ddr2
now a new problem: the wlan card's drivers are installed, but it will not detect wireless stations.
there is an antenna connection (like TNC but smaller) on the back of the card, but no antenna.
however, there is a double wire connected to the card inside the pc going to the front of the case.
so im guessing it has an internal antenna. i will look into it tomorrow, as its a little late now, and my job starts at 7am tomorrow... a
nd no my job is not computer related, im just a hard-core geek :p
thanks anyway for the fast reply lad, i'll keep u posted if i have any succes
so goodnite folks..
regards..
Thanks for letting us know.
