gateway nv56r14u palm rest

Why is it so difficult to find parts for newer laptops just out of warranty? This is about the worst design for a power button I have ever seen. There is a very weak tongue that sticks out from the button that actuates the power button board and it has broke off making the whole palm rest useless. There is no way to glue anything on to make this work again so the customer is stuck with getting a new one but I cannot find one anywhere so does anyone have a source I can get one. Gateway will only give there support to warranty customers and I cannot find anyway to get parts from them.

CCT your is of a different model and ferrit what I need is a complete palmrest because the PB is broke along with the button on the top side you are pushing. This power button is top left. Strange the button doesn't push directly onto the power button board like most laptops it has a tongue that sticks out that hits the button but it is broke off and there is just no way to glue anything onto it.

edit: looking at the price and rarity, I'd just drill a hole in the old palm rest and use a thin dowel for pressing the power switch.

Yeah I seen that one too but there is no power button board or touch pad board and I see no way to remove the touch pad from the old one. Looks like it is glued in or something.
