Just imagine. An improper implementation of a standard having a vulnerability. Yet another good reason to patronize a local system builder.

Maybe, but all the same we are dealing with a vulnerability limited to specific manufacturers, and flaws in their Secure Boot implementation. Of course, that's going to involve large numbers of machines; that still isn't the same thing as having the basic technology compromised. That will happen eventually, but I don't think it's happened yet.
