Yep, I figured out the /O switch for Xcopy. Works pretty well. Robocopy is way too confusing. Thanks for the hizz-elp.

Nevermind, found the answer. Do a File>Open in word, then select "Open and Repair" from the "Open" drop-down. Pretty nifty feature and it did the trick.

I have a user who deleted the "goofy little ~temp.doc" file that is created when you open a Word document. Unfortunately the guy had the Word document open at the time and naturally, it won't open...
