lol, I use the jumper all the time...this is but it didn't do any good. It loaded the BIOS, but the settings were erased as soon as I tried to reboot.

It turns out the BIOS is messed up. Since I can't boot from a BIOS recovery/upgrade disk, and it's a dinky computer anyway, the university is ditching this computer. It's about time, anyway.
